Announcement of Shikoku office relocation and renovation of old folk house

Beyond Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Naniwa Ward, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture, Representative Director: Masahiro Haraoka, hereinafter referred to as "Beyond"), which provides cloud/server business, has relocated its Shikoku office in Miyoshi City, Tokushima Prefecture to a 110-year-old building. We renovated an old house and opened a new office.

Beyond Shikoku Office’s 5-year history

Beyond established a Shikoku office in Miyoshi City, Tokushima Prefecture in 2019, and has been operating a satellite office at the former Masami Ryokan.

The Shikoku office was established as our first remote location, with the vision of building infrastructure operations similar to those at our headquarters in remote areas of Japan and gaining experience in preparation for establishing overseas locations.

Approximately five years have passed since its establishment, and while the Shikoku Office has been carrying out stable infrastructure operations, it is also working with local communities to actively contribute to job creation and regional development in Tokushima Prefecture and Miyoshi City. We plan to further strengthen our cooperation and promote activities that will lead to the development of the local economy.

Purpose of moving to an old private house office

Until now, we have been using the former Masami Ryokan as a satellite office. In the future, we aim to further improve the attractiveness of working at the Beyond Shikoku office and promote employee retention, while at the same time stimulating interest in IT infrastructure work in Tokushima and increasing its appeal as a base that will be a plus for new hires. This time, we decided to renovate the old folk house.

We also aim to communicate our appeal to companies that want to establish bases or satellite offices in rural areas, and provide them with an opportunity to motivate them.

Furthermore, in order to further strengthen cooperation with the local community in the future, we have created a shared space to create a space where local people can easily gather together, with the desire to provide a place for interaction.

While searching for a property for a new office, we toured several properties, and we felt that this would be the most suitable for creating a place where not only the employees of the Shikoku office, but also employees from other bases, could refresh. The place I could most imagine was the old folk house that is now used as an office.

Commitment to renovating old folk houses

The 110-year-old old house, which used to be a sake brewery, has splendid beams and pillars, alcoves, sliding doors, and a courtyard, giving it a sense of old-world charm. For this reason, we renovated the office into an office that takes advantage of reusable parts and values the feel of an old folk house, while also incorporating new features to create a comfortable working environment for employees.

In addition, we are particular about creating a space where you can work in a place surrounded by nature, feeling calm and at ease, and our employees are also involved in renovating the interior and courtyard themselves.

In addition to the office space, we also have an open space that can be used as a space for holding events and socializing as a place where you can feel a sense of freedom. We would like to create an environment that facilitates communication and create a place where employees can deepen ties with each other and the local community.

Future initiatives at the Shikoku office

The Shikoku office also has accommodation space for employees to stay for long periods of time, and we are also putting more effort into initiatives that allow employees to work in a different environment than usual, such as promoting a workation system and working at different locations. I'm going to put it in.

In collaboration with satellite offices that work on hiring local human resources, we are working to contribute to regional revitalization by serving as a place to interact and share information with U-turn human resources, IJ-turn human resources who have migrated to urban areas, and local students. I'm going.
