[Press Release] Introducing the “Canada Overseas Training System” that allows 3 months of training in Canada

Starting in June 2022, we have introduced the "Canada Overseas Training Program," which allows employees working in Japan to travel to our Canadian subsidiary, Beyond GTA Inc., for three months. The aim is to deepen the insights of our engineers by experiencing a different culture in diverse Canada

The reason for introducing the "Canada Overseas Training Program"

Beyond, which handles the operation, maintenance, design and construction of cloud and servers, has engineers on-site 24/7 to monitor their servers in case of any issues. Originally, they had to operate a three-shift system with night shifts, but to take advantage of the time difference and eliminate the night shifts, they established a new local subsidiary, Beyond GTA Inc. (hereafter referred to as the Canadian office), in Toronto, Canada, and by carrying out monitoring in both Japan and Canada, they were able to eliminate the night shifts

By operating our servers while maintaining constant communication between our three bases in Osaka, Shikoku, and Canada, we have created an opportunity for engineers living in Japan to work in Canada. We have introduced a "Canada Overseas Training Program" that allows employees to work for three months, with the hope that this will allow them to improve their technical and English skills and learn about diversity through living in the country

Work abroad for a short period of time without having to emigrate

Even members who have always wanted to work overseas but found immigration too daunting can experience life in Canada for just three months, and by cultivating technical skills under the guidance of the CEO of the Canadian office, the program aims to broaden their knowledge as engineers that they would not be able to learn in Japan. We also hope that working with members of the Canadian office will deepen communication between our locations, and that experiencing foreign cultures will provide an opportunity for them to deepen their understanding of diversity and inclusion

Effects of the 3-month training and engineers' opinions

One engineer who actually completed a three-month training program from Japan to Canada said, "I was able to learn how to think about solving problems through my work, and the pace of time in Canada is slower than in Japan, which gave me a sense of mental space." There were also other benefits, such as being able to interact with local people in my private life and experiencing what it's like to move abroad

Services for North America to be rolled out in the future

Our Canadian office provides technical support for cloud/server construction, operation and maintenance for Japanese companies, local subsidiaries and overseas group companies expanding into North America, and we will continue to develop services that are not only domestically but also globally competitive. By creating an environment where Beyond members can not only work comfortably but also take on the challenges they want to achieve, we will improve the technical skills and motivation of our engineers and provide services that satisfy our customers
