Beyond Inc. Beyond Shikoku Office's Five-Year History

Beyond established its Shikoku office in Miyoshi City, Tokushima Prefecture in 2019, and has been conducting business there since then, with a satellite office in the former Masaumi Ryokan

The Shikoku office was established as the first remote base with the vision of realizing the same infrastructure operations as the head office in a remote region of Japan and gaining experience in preparation for establishing overseas bases

Approximately five years have passed since its establishment, and while the Shikoku office continues to carry out stable infrastructure operations, it also plans to further strengthen cooperation with local communities and promote activities that will lead to the development of the local economy in order to contribute more actively than ever before to job creation and regional development in Tokushima Prefecture and Miyoshi City

The purpose of moving to an old house office

Until now, the former Masaumi Ryokan has been used as a satellite office. Going forward, we have decided to renovate the old house with the aim of further increasing the appeal of working at the Beyond Shikoku office and promoting employee retention, while also stimulating interest in IT infrastructure work in Tokushima and making it an attractive base for new hires

We also aim to appeal to companies that want to establish bases or satellite offices in regional areas and provide them with an opportunity to motivate them

Furthermore, in order to further strengthen cooperation with the local community in the future, we created a shared space with the hope of providing a place for interaction, making it easy for local people to gather

While searching for a property to use as a new office, we looked at several properties, but the old house that is now our office was the one that we felt was the most suitable and best suited to creating a place where employees from our other locations could relax and unwind, and we could easily imagine what it would look like after renovation

Attention to detail in old house renovation

The 110-year-old traditional Japanese house, formerly a sake brewery, still retains its traditional charm with its splendid beams, pillars, alcove, sliding doors, and courtyard. For this reason, we made use of reusable parts and renovated the office to incorporate modern elements to create a comfortable working environment for employees, while preserving the traditional Japanese feel

We are also committed to creating a space where employees can work in a natural environment, feeling calm and at ease, and our employees themselves are involved in renovating the interior and courtyard

In addition to the office space, we have also set up an open space that can be used as a place where you can feel a sense of freedom and where events and interactions can be held. We hope to create an environment that encourages communication and deepens ties between employees and the local community

Future initiatives at the Shikoku office

The Shikoku office also has accommodation space for employees staying long-term, and we will continue to put more effort into initiatives that allow employees to work in different environments than usual, such as promoting workation systems and working at different locations

We will work in cooperation with satellite offices that are working to employ local talent, and will contribute to revitalizing the region by providing a forum for U-turn and IJ-turn talent who have moved to urban areas, as well as local students, to interact and share information
