What is “City Trial Japan”?
City Trial Japan Japan's only urban bike trial competition , where participants compete to see how well they can ride a motorcycle through a course with complex elevation changes and slopes.
The number of domestic competitors is over several thousand. Among them, there are different classes (licenses) depending on the level of skill, and there are only about 20 riders nationwide who hold the highest license, ``International A-Class Super Class,'' which is equivalent to the world championship. It is an enjoyable competition that focuses not only on the difficulty of the course, but also on the skill of the rider to overcome it.
The first event was held in 2018 at the Tsutenkaku Hondori Shopping District overlooking Osaka's iconic landmark, Tsutenkaku, and the first city trial race in the history of Asian motorsports, ``City Trial Japan 2018 in OSAKA,'' was held in 2019. The second tournament, held at the end of April 2018, was moved to Expo'70 Commemorative Park and attracted a total of 9,000 spectators, far exceeding the previous tournament.
This year, the event will be moved to a larger venue than last year and will be held on a larger scale, with Beyond supporting the event as a sponsor.
