Beyond Inc. (headquartered in Osaka City), a company that provides cloud server services, has begun recruiting new graduates for the class of 2027. We will reveal behind the scenes of this unique recruitment initiative, which aims to bring together diverse talent and increase the company's recognition.

Background to the launch of Unique Recruitment

In order to strengthen our recruitment of engineers, we have begun to work on unique recruitment methods with the aim of increasing our company's recognition. Through these efforts, we aim to meet talented people who fit our corporate culture, as well as to communicate our company's values ​​and culture to as many people as possible.

Since launching Unique Recruitment in 2020, we have continued to strive to further deepen our corporate culture through recruitment activities, taking on new challenges every year.

Unique recruitment initiatives to date

We have undertaken a variety of unique recruitment initiatives to date. Our first initiative, a company information session using online games, was a new format in which employees and job seekers gathered in a game and a company information session was held within the game. We have also created and released game-style recruitment content that can be enjoyed online, such as an RPG game that allows you to experience the company's work and an escape game that allows you to deepen your understanding of the company by solving puzzles.

They are also experimenting with unique interview methods, such as "virtual interviews," in which interviewees use avatars to hide their faces, and "metaverse interviews," which are conducted in a metaverse space using VR goggles. In March 2025, they held an escape game-style company information session in their actual office. All of the story and puzzles are created by in-house engineers, and they are also unique in that they create their own unique recruitment content in-house.

These efforts not only allow us to meet a diverse range of talent who are interested in and willing to take on the challenge of our unique recruitment methods, but our activities to date have also contributed greatly to increasing awareness of the company.

Among the various initiatives we have undertaken, we have implemented unique recruitment methods such as an online game company information session and virtual interviews. Here we share the voices of currently active employees who joined the company.

・Web Development Engineer (3rd year at the company: Virtual interview)

I applied simply because it sounded interesting. By creating a detailed avatar model for the interview, I was able to demonstrate my interest in the job and express myself in ways that wouldn't be possible in a regular interview, so the virtual interview suited me perfectly. I would like to continue with unique and slightly unconventional recruitment methods in order to hire unique talent.

・Sales (3rd year at the company: Virtual interview)

I was interested in the unique hiring practices that other companies don't use, and I thought it was an interesting company, so I applied. I feel that I was able to join the company precisely because of the virtual interview. Because different perspectives than in regular hiring are evaluated, even people who would be overlooked in regular hiring processes can join the company, so I think it's a hiring method that has benefits from both the job seeker's perspective and the company's perspective.

・Infrastructure Engineer (5th year at the company: Online game company information session)

At first, I just thought there was an IT company doing some interesting things on social media, but when I actually attended, I was drawn to the culture. At the information session, there was an atmosphere where it was easy to ask questions about the company. I think that unique hiring practices are a good way to embody the company's culture. I would like to continue to be actively involved in these kinds of initiatives in the future.

Reasons for continuing unique recruitment

Beyond has a deep-rooted culture of taking on the challenge of "interesting" and "fun" things, and this is what makes the company great and attractive. Of course, we want the job-seekers who participate in Unique Recruitment to have fun, but it is Beyond's employees who enjoy creating it together, and this creates the company's organizational culture.

In the past, unique recruitment methods have been used to recruit people who fit into the company's culture. Small and medium-sized venture companies have the challenge of being less well-known than large corporations, but adopting unique recruitment methods has been a major strength in increasing the number of people who join the company because they empathize with the company's values.

We will continue to aim to hire diverse talent through our unique recruitment methods.

Beyond will be hosting one-day and three-day summer internships for students who are expected to graduate in March 2027.
