Japan Festival Canada 2022

It's been a while.
I'm John, the one who went by the name Abosbek in my very first blog post.

Looking at my Japanese blog, it's been a long time since my first post, but putting aside my past activities for now, I'd like to share about an interesting event I participated in last month.
As you can probably guess from the title, I'd like to introduce the Japan Festival, the largest in North America.

First, let me explain about the Japan Festival.
The Japan Festival is an event held in Mississauga, a town next to Toronto, with the aim of contributing to the further success of diplomatic relations between Canada and Japan.
Since its inception in 2016, it has been held every summer, and in 2019 it was a great success with 90,000 participants.
This event is the largest Japanese cultural event in North America, where you can experience various aspects of Japanese culture, including traditional performing arts, contemporary performing arts, pop culture stage performances, and delicious Japanese food.

This year's event,
which was held online during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 and 2021, was held offline once again.
Some of you reading this blog may have participated online in 2020 or 2021, but this year, going to the event in person, I felt it was the most enjoyable event I've ever attended.
At the start of the event, I felt proud when the Mayor of Mississauga said that this event was very important to the city and that he wanted to continue to have a good relationship with Japan, a wonderful country. I realized how fortunate
I am to have worked in Japan and to have already experienced things that people in North America (including Canada) would like to experience. I
am currently away from Japan, but thanks to this event, I felt like I was in Japan again.
I didn't eat any of the famous Japanese foods sold at the stalls, such as ramen, tempura, or yakitori, but I did have shaved ice on the hot first day.

Finally, I had a wonderful time during the two days held on August 20th and 21st. I would
like to thank the organizers for holding this event and making it a success.
If you have the opportunity to come to Canada, I would like to encourage everyone in Japan to experience this event. Information
about next year's event will be updated at the link attached above, so please check it regularly so you don't miss out.
