session
In between exhibiting at the booth, I attended sessions that interested me
7/31
13:20~14:00
"Building a real-time dashboard of viewing data using BigQuery"
14:40~15:20
"Asahi Breweries' Challenge: Goals for Adopting Google Kubernetes Engine and How to Migrate"
8/1
13:20~14:00
"No more late-night releases! Automated GKE deployment operations and performance monitoring!"
14:20~15:20
"Introduction to Site Reliability Engineering"
16:00~16:40
"Lift & Shift to GCP - Efficient migration and optimization using migration tools"
What I found particularly interesting was "Introduction to Site Reliability Engineering."
I had only had the opportunity to learn a rough definition of SRE from books and blogs, but...
1. Solution Development
2. Philosophy and Way of Thinking (Engineering Approach)
3. Engineering Practices and Tools
I'm glad I was able to participate, as I learned that these are the goals of working in SRE
Besides the concept of SRE, the slide on emergency response was the one that stuck with me the most
・When dealing with systems, "things will inevitably break"
- Few people can handle emergencies well, so a process is needed
Don't panic
You are not alone and it is not the end of the world
I used to get nervous every time I had to respond to an alert or incident since I was a new graduate.
When I thought about whether even Google's SRE team members feel the same way when responding,
I realized that I shouldn't be so anxious.
That being said, I believe that not panicking
requires a deep understanding of the infrastructure, systems, and services, so I will make sure not to misunderstand what that means.
about IT in general, in order to grow as an infrastructure engineer
This experience has motivated me to learn more
I will also work on learning to read and write code in order to automate tasks and processes.
In other sessions, we were able to hear firsthand about companies' GCP implementation cases and the latest technologies
"Lift & Shift to GCP: Efficient Migration and Optimization Using Migration Tools," we learned about migration.
Beyond also promotes migration to GCP,
the third-party product "cloudendureand we have tried migrating VMs to GCE using
Anthos can be used to migrate on-premises environments and VMs as GKE containers. I
haven't fully grasped everything just from the explanation, so I will try Anthos in my own environment.
Certification Benefits
sneak in andthe perks for GCP certified holdersI managed to
The perks included access to the exclusive lounge and a backpack, limited to 100 per day.

It has a laptop compartment and, despite its large size, feels surprisingly light when worn, so
I immediately liked it and started using it for work.
I'm so glad I passed the certification exam before the next event!
Afterword
It was my first time participating in a large-scale event since joining the company
I was nervous giving a face-to-face explanation of our company to people who stopped by our booth.
my experience as an infrastructure engineer and the knowledge I've acquired on my own
, I think I was able to confidently convey what they were looking for and what we could offer, based on
including information on new GCP services, examples of existing service use, and corporate GCP usage examples
I'm very satisfied with the experience of hearing firsthand presentations from various engineers,
to just end it with "I'm glad I participated," so I will use it as an indicator for skill improvement and in my work.
To start with,AnthosI'll try
I would love to participate again next time, so I will continue to hone my skills until then
Thank you for reading this far
