Hello!
I'm Inoue, the Persian cat at Beyond Shikoku office.

This is the second installment of a blog where a Persian cat simply shares the charm of shops in Miyoshi City!
This time, we'll introduce "Rokudenashi," one of the few bars in Ikeda Town.
Miyoshi who want to casually drop by
and "drink until the early morning! I just want to drink!" (lol)

Spreading the charm of good-for-nothing

Could you tell us what inspired you to open Rokudenashi?
The reason for opening it was "by chance." Originally
, I had no intention of opening a bar in Miyoshi; I wanted to try it in Tokyo or Osaka.
I wanted to use the customer service skills I cultivated at my previous job at a hotel to improve my skills in Tokyo or Osaka.
After improving my skills, I vaguely thought about returning to Miyoshi and starting some kind of business.
At that time, I happened to be asked, "Why don't you open a restaurant?" I felt that this was an opportunity given to me, so I immediately
said, "Okay, I'll do it!" and that's how Rokudenashi came to be opened.
So, Rokudenashi is a shop that opened by chance, due to a combination of various connections.

What kind of shop is Rokudenashi?
What I always keep in mind is "I want to make it a place where young people can gather."
When I started, I had no knowledge of alcohol, and I hadn't undergone any training, so everything was new to me.
I started the shop by researching how to make alcohol on Google and learning from customers.
While providing delicious drinks is important, we also
focus on creating a comfortable space where young people can easily gather, have fun, and drink late into the night.
Were there any difficulties in opening Rokudenashi? I
was suddenly asked if I wanted to open a shop, so I worked at my previous job at a hotel and
prepared night after night with the help of friends.
I originally had a glamorous image of it, but in reality it's not such a glamorous job.
When we first opened the shop, I was taking stomach medicine every day.
What is important to you in running Rokudenashi?
I work hard every day because I want it to be a place where young people can gather in any era.
In fact, we have many young customers, and they like the shop.
In the future,
it is most important to keep this shop going so that young people can continue to gather here for generations to come.
Our customers are from a wide age range, but I think that when young people have fun, older people also get energized.
However, there aren't many places around here where you can drink casually and affordably, so
I want to reduce the number of young people who feel that way and can't go out for drinks. What are your
recommended drinks?
classic and popular drink is the "highball."
is that we use fresh limes!

Our special feature
I think tequila is a must for any lively drinking party. (laughs)

We also have some unusual drinks!
In Tokushima Prefecture, there's a draft beer made with mitsumata, which is actively produced but not yet well-known.
It's truly a "Yukichi Beer." I really want you to try it. We

also have a selection of other delicious drinks from Tokushima Prefecture.
"Sudachi liquor" and local sakes from Miyoshi such as "Ima Komachi," "Housui," and "Miyoshi Kiku."
All of Tokushima's drinks are easy to drink, so
I think both local customers and tourists will enjoy them.

Is there anything you'd like to do in the future?
We will continue to hold events as we have been doing.
As for something new I'd like to do, I'd like to turn the shop into a place for talent development.
I feel that communication skills are extremely important when entering society,
and I want to use working in the service industry, specifically at a bar, as a training ground to improve communication skills. I want
such as being able to listen properly to others and expressing themselves when talking to people
to create an environment where people can take steps to improve their abilities,
A message to those who want to visit Rokudenashi:
The name of the bar is "Rokudenashi" (meaning "good-for-nothing"), but the bar itself is not "good-for-nothing"!
People say the bar is difficult to enter, but we have a homey atmosphere, so please feel free to drop by.
Solo customers and first-time visitors are all welcome.

Miyoshiin one word!
"Potential"
Many people say that the population is decreasing and that it's a rural area, but
I feel that the number of people who want to "liven up Miyoshi!" is increasing.
I also feel that the local government is becoming more cooperative in response.
If someone raises their hand, there are people who agree to "do it together," and
there are many people who cooperate and can unite in Miyoshi.
Even someone like me has been running a bar for 3 years now. To be honest, I thought I would fail.
There are many things that Miyoshi lacks, but if something is missing, we can just create it.
I have many people around me who are willing to help create what we lack.
I believe that Miyoshi is a town with great potential, and that the number of tourists and new residents will increase in the future.

Persian cats also spread the charm of sleazy people

For the second installment of our project to strongly promote Miyoshi, we interviewed Mr. Yokokawa, a long-time personal friend of mine.
Mr. Yokokawa runs BAR Rokudenashi and is also actively involved in events in Miyoshi City.
If you want to talk about how great Miyoshi is, you should talk to Mr. Yokokawa or a Persian cat! (lol)
If you let us talk about Miyoshi, we can talk until morning!
BAR Rokudenashi is a bar where you can enjoy both drinks and conversation.
Mr. Yokokawa is a friendly and passionate person.
While you're having a drink, be sure to ask Mr. Yokokawa about the good things about Miyoshi City.
Be warned, though, because if you let him talk about his dreams, he'll go on and on. (゚Д゚)

Rokudenashi also has karaoke. If
you're someone who wants to sing karaoke while getting pleasantly drunk, then you should definitely check out Rokudenashi!

By the way, the drink I always order when I go to Rokudenashi is Sudachi Sake, a local sake from Tokushima Prefecture.
I like to drink it on the rocks with just one ice cube. They
also have a good selection of soft drinks, so even those who don't drink alcohol can enjoy themselves.
As for me, I drink so much sake that I get bloated, so my secret weapon is to subtly drink tomato juice as a chaser.
It helps to reduce the alcohol smell and bloating the next day, so I recommend having tomato juice in between!

If you drink until morning and get hungry, they have instant noodles available to finish off the night!
It's also great that you can bring your own food.

If you go to Rokudenashi, be sure to open the lid of this cute "Minion"! (・´з`・)

Thank you to Mr. Yokogawa for taking the time out of your busy schedule to participate in this interview

Growing every day, moving forward every day.
I must update myself every single day!!!
Thank you for reading to the end.
