[For those who can't concentrate] Tips for successful telework and how to proceed with work

Hello, this is Sakashita from the management department.

The spread of coronavirus has finally calmed down in Kansai!

We still need to be prepared for a second wave, and coronavirus prevention measures will continue to be important, so we need to be vigilant and take precautions!!

However, as more and more companies are introducing telework (working from home),

When working from home,

"I can't concentrate," "My work isn't progressing well," "I'm not motivated"

I think many people think this way..

This time, I would like to introduce my own tips for those people on how to successfully work from home!

The secret to successful teleworking

1. Wake up as usual in the morning
. 2. Get dressed properly.
3. Fix start and end times as much as possible.
4. Make detailed schedules.
5. Respond faster than usual.
6. Change the way you communicate in chat a little.
7. Proactively express gratitude and thanks.
8. Get used to going paperless
. 9. Take a breather once an hour or take breaks whenever possible.
10. Don't work after your working hours.

1. Wake up in the morning as usual

With telework, there is no commute time, so it is attractive to be able to sleep more comfortably than usual, but

In that spare time, I read a book, do housework, drink tea slowly,

Using your time effectively will leave you feeling more relaxed!

2. Take care of your appearance

At home, I thought that no one would notice if I didn't wear proper clothes,

I often find myself slacking off at work and not making much progress, so I try to wear clothes that I can wear going out in

Putting on proper clothes will change your mood!

Also, just because I'm at home doesn't mean I don't wear makeup at all; I do wear at least a minimum amount of makeup

It makes you aware that you are being watched, which helps you maintain a sense of balance!

3. Keep start and end times as fixed as possible

Even when working remotely, your performance will improve if you lead as regular a life as possible

Above all, to realize that you can balance your private time and use your other time effectively,

We have tried to keep the start and end times as constant as possible!

4. Plan your schedule in detail

Every morning, I plan my day down to the hour

Since there are also requests for mail merges, I will create a schedule that allows for an hour of leeway and completes my work day in eight hours

For non-urgent tasks, we use a separate tool to manage tasks

It may seem like a hassle at first until you get used to it,

By making a detailed schedule, you can clearly see the minimum amount of work you need to do today,

You can also see the progress of each task, such as how much time it took

It will also be easier to see when it will be finished

5. Respond faster than usual

Since chat is the main communication tool within the company,

When it arrives to you, if you can respond immediately,

If something was difficult, I would let them know and try to deal with it as soon as I finished the work I was doing!

However, if you are the one sending the message, you will not know the other person's situation,

Even if the response was slow, I tried not to panic or become anxious

If it is an urgent matter, it is a good idea to state a deadline, such as "Please reply by XX o'clock."

6. Change the way you communicate in chat

Because the other person is not there, there are some things that are difficult to convey through text alone

I tried to write as carefully as possible and send messages that would reduce the number of exchanges!

However, the phrases you use to show consideration for others are

On the other hand, this can make the intention of the message unclear, so be careful!

7. Express gratitude and thanks proactively

Unlike working in an office, teleworking means you can't see each other's faces as often,

I made it a point to proactively express my gratitude to others

I try to use stamps as much as possible because they make it easier to convey my thoughts

8. Get used to going paperless

Until now, most of the work was paper-based, such as documents

You can work both at the office and at home,

We have adopted a system that allows as much of the process to be completed on a PC as possible!

It can be a hassle to get used to it and to prepare for it, but

Once you get used to this method, other people can check it on their PCs right away

Document verification and other transactions will also be streamlined

9. Take a breather every hour or take breaks

When I was working in the office, I was often on the move,

When you're at home, it's hard to move around much

Even if you don't feel tired, try to stand up to get a drink or

Even if it's just a small action like stretching or stretching,

It's recommended to refresh!

10. Don't work after hours

When you work from home, there's no commute time, and you tend to procrastinate, thinking you should get a little more work done!!

There's no way around the work that needs to be completed within the day,

It's important to finish work when it's time to leave work as planned!

Realize the value of your time and use it effectively!

The important thing about teleworking is to clearly define your work and personal time!

I think many of you are already putting what I have written into practice,

Even if you're not confident in your ability to concentrate, these little tricks can help you work more efficiently

If you haven't tried it yet, give it a try!

Also, working in a different environment can be a good opportunity to reassess your daily work habits

We recommend taking this opportunity to try teleworking!!
