Japan Festival Canada 2022
It's been a long time.
This is John, who called himself Abosbek in his very first blog.
Looking at my Japanese blog, it's been a long time since my first post, but aside from my past activities, I participated in an interesting event last month, so I'd like to share about it.
I think you can already get an idea of what I'm going to talk about from the title, but I'd like to introduce you to the largest Japan Festival in North America.
Well, first of all, let me explain about Japan Festival.
Japan Festival is an event held in Mississauga, a town next to Toronto, with the aim of contributing to the further success of establishing diplomatic relations between Canada and Japan.
It has been held every summer since it was first held in 2016, and was a huge success in 2019 with 90,000 participants.
This event is the largest Japanese cultural event in North America, where you can experience a variety of Japanese culture, including traditional performing arts, contemporary performing arts, pop culture stage performances, and delicious Japanese food.

This year's event
The event that was held online during the 2020 and 2021 coronavirus pandemic was once again held offline.
Some of you reading this blog may have participated online in 2020 and 2021, but this year I went to the site and personally participated in the most fun event ever. I felt it.
I felt a sense of pride when the Mayor of Mississauga told me at the beginning of the event that this event was very important to the city and that he wanted to continue to have a good relationship with this wonderful country like Japan.
I felt truly blessed to have worked in Japan and experienced what people in North America (including Canada) want to experience.
Although I am currently away from Japan, this event made me feel like I was back in Japan.
I didn't eat the famous Japanese ramen, tempura, yakitori, or other food sold at the stalls, but I did get some shaved ice on the hot first day.
Finally, I had a great time during the two days held on August 20th and 21st.
We would like to thank all the organizers for holding this event and making it a success.
If you from Japan have a chance to come to Canada, please come and experience this event at least once.
Information about next year's event will be updated on the link attached above, so please check it regularly so you don't miss any opportunities.
