I participated in the "Linux System Administration Basics Seminar @ Osaka."

This is Nakagawa from the System Solutions Department. I recently attended the " Linux System Administration Fundamentals Seminar " hosted by LPI-Japan
My reasons for participating were my interest in externally held seminars, my desire
to increase my basic knowledge of Linux, and to review the knowledge I learned for the LPIC exam.
Seminar Content
The contents of this seminar were as follows:
- Managing root privileges
- Network Settings
- Service Management
- Package Management
- System Monitoring
- Log Management
The lecturer was Toru Miyahara , President and CEO of Biginet Co., Ltd. He also co-authored "Linux System Administration Standard Textbook," which was used as the textbook for this seminar.
I obtained the LPIC LEVEL 1 certification last year, but by attending this seminar I was able to gain a lot of new knowledge
- How to log in to a server using SSH
- Service startup settings for CestOS 7.0
- Notes on MAC address settings when duplicating virtual servers
I learned a lot about things I frequently deal with in my work, as well as points that will be necessary for my future work.
There was also an explanation and solution to a problem that I had previously dealt with for a long time
, and there was some content that made me think I should have taken the course earlier.
This is what the seminar looked like

I found the content related to system monitoring particularly interesting.
I learned about the definition of CPU load and troubleshooting methods, which I frequently deal with in my work, through detailed explanations.
Learning about troubleshooting methods from a different perspective than usual was a great opportunity to broaden my horizons.
Incidentally, the back of the lecture hall
was lined with Linux-related books and textbooks used in technical analysis seminars.

I was surprised at the number of related books!
Conclusion
This time it was a lecture format, but
there are also seminars where you bring your laptop and build a server while you go along.
In addition to Linux systems, there are also many technical explanations related to the LPIC exam.
I will actively participate in the next seminar as well to deepen my knowledge of Linux.
