Summary of efforts during the sudden telework life

My name is Fujisawa, and I work in public relations and recruitment, having escaped the telework lifestyle

Beyond has returned to working in the office from Monday, June 1st!

However, with the recent Tokyo Alert, the Yokohama office has once again begun teleworking

In Osaka, we are working in a style that combines office attendance and teleworking, but we still cannot afford to let our guard down, so wearing a mask is a basic requirement and we are also thoroughly disinfecting the office

Now that teleworking has settled down for the time being, looking back at the period from when the state of emergency was declared in April to when it was lifted in May, I felt that Beyond was trying out many new things online for the first time

So, this time I'm going to summarize the online events I've been involved in over the past two months of working from home !

Online new employee welcome party

The 2020 graduating class members who joined the company on April 1, 2020, also began teleworking immediately after working in the office for two days

The online welcome party was held before I had time to remember the faces of the company members, and I think I was in a state of complete confusion..

As it is difficult to speak with a large group of people, we used Zoom's "breakout session" function to create several rooms of 6 to 10 people each, allowing for conversations in smaller groups

Doing it online will only result in a casual meeting, but I think it's much better than not doing it at all

Online new employee training

Of course, all new employee training is also online

Everything from department explanations, technical training, and customer survey presentations was carried out online through collaboration

The presentation of what they learned in the training was also done online, so I think the new members felt a sense of tension they had never experienced before

If telework training continues in the future, it will be important to create an atmosphere where people can feel free to ask questions online

Online study session

The regularly held Beyond Study Group was also held online for the first time

Normally, we would spend time arranging the venue, preparing for the social gathering, and cleaning up, but with online events, we could hold them immediately as long as we had the materials, so it was much easier for the organizers

Participants didn't have to leave work and travel, so there were few cancellations on the day

What's more, since the event is online, people from Tokyo can also speak, so it's all good!

However, I feel a little sad that we can't have a social gathering..

However, since it is difficult to gather together at the moment, study sessions will be held online for the time being until the pandemic is completely over

Online internal networking event

We wondered if there was something fun we could do with our company members! So we decided to play Minecraft

The cost of purchasing the software was covered by my company, so I bought it in the blink of an eye and when I played it for the first time, I understood why Minecraft is so popular all over the world

During the company social event, we were only able to do simple things like breaking down trees to create lumber and then using that lumber to build a house, but I was amazed to find out that there is a game that offers such a high degree of freedom and tests your imagination!

It seems like it would be quite deep if you get into it, so I'd like to give it a thorough try again when I have time

Online interview

All recruitment activities, both for new graduates and mid-career employees, are conducted online

The final interview, the explanation of joining the company after receiving a job offer, and the company tour will all be conducted online

Currently, people cannot come to the office, so it can be difficult to get a sense of the company atmosphere, but our website and recruitment site .

Furthermore, since it can be difficult to convey each other's personalities online, we try to avoid mismatches by carefully considering what to talk about during the interview in advance

In the future, it may be better to talk to people who live far away online, so we may continue to conduct interviews and first rounds online

Over the past two months, I have tried many things for the first time, and there have been many things I have had to be aware of and felt more nervous than ever before

However, I would never have made use of online services if it weren't for this opportunity, so I think I've accumulated a lot of know-how

We would like to continue to actively engage in things that can be done online, such as study sessions and recruitment activities

There are some issues, such as not being able to get to know people's personalities and not being able to deepen relationships, but I think we will come up with ideas for improvement as we go along, so I would like to gradually increase the fulfillment of the online experience!
