Summary of efforts during the sudden telework life

My name is Fujisawa, and I am in charge of public relations and recruitment, having escaped from the telework life.

Beyond has returned to office work from June 1st (Monday)!

However, due to the activation of the Tokyo Alert the other day, the Yokohama office has started telework again.

In Osaka, we are working in a combination of office work and telework, but we still have to let our guard down, so we are required to wear masks and are diligent about disinfecting the office...

Now that telework has calmed down for the time being, looking back on the period from April when the state of emergency was declared to May when it was lifted, I feel that Beyond has taken on many first-time online challenges.

So, this time the online events I have been working on during the two months of my telework life !

table of contents

  1. Online newcomer welcome party
  2. Online new employee training
  3. online study session
  4. Online internal exchange meeting
  5. online interview

Online newcomer welcome party

The 20th graduate members who joined the company on April 1, 2020 began working from home immediately after working in the office for two days.

I think the online welcome party was held without me having time to remember the faces of the company members, and I was in a state of confusion.

As expected, it would be difficult to have a conversation with a large number of people, so we used Zoom's "breakout session" feature to create several rooms of 6 to 10 people each, so that we could have conversations in small groups.

If we do it online, we can only meet briefly, but I think it's much better than not having it at all.

Online new employee training

Of course, all new employee training is online.

Everything including explanations of departments, practical training on technology, and presentations on customer surveys were all carried out in collaboration online.

Since the presentation of what they learned in the training was also done online, I think the new members felt a sense of nervousness that they had never experienced before.

If telework training continues in the future, it will be important to create an atmosphere where employees can feel free to ask questions online.

online study session

The regularly held Beyond study session was also held online for the first time.

Normally, I would have spent time arranging the venue, preparing for the social gathering, cleaning up, etc., but online, as long as I had the materials, I could start the event right away, so it was a lot easier for the organizers.

Participants did not have to cut off work and travel, so there were fewer cancellations on the day of the event.

Furthermore, if it is online, people in Tokyo can also speak on the stage, which is a great thing!

However, I do feel a little sad about not being able to have social gatherings...

However, it is difficult to gather together at the moment, so study sessions will be held online for a while until the situation is completely over.

Online internal exchange meeting

Can we do something interesting with our company members? ? So I decided to play Minecraft.

The company paid for the software, so when I bought it at the speed of light and played it for the first time, I realized why Minecraft is so popular all over the world.

At the in-house social gathering, we were only able to perform simple operations such as breaking down trees to make wood and building a house with that wood, but I wonder if there's ever a game that allows for so much freedom and tests your imagination! I felt that.

It seems like it's pretty deep once you get hooked on it, so I think I'll try it again when I have time.

online interview

All recruitment activities for both new graduates and mid-career candidates are conducted online.

The final interview, explanations related to joining the company after a job offer, and company tours are all conducted online.

Currently, it is difficult for people to come to the office, so it is difficult to get a sense of the company's atmosphere, but we are trying to give people as much of an image of Beyond as possible by looking at our homepage and recruitment site

Furthermore, there are some parts where it is difficult to convey each other's personalities online, so I try to think about what I will say during the face-to-face meeting/interview in advance to eliminate mismatches.

In the future, it may be better to talk online if you are living far away, so we may continue to conduct face-to-face interviews and first interviews online.

summary

Over the past two months, I have often attempted things for the first time, and there were many things I had never felt nervous about before and had to keep in mind.

However, I would never have used online tools unless it was an opportunity like this, so I think I have accumulated a lot of know-how.

I would like to continue to actively engage in activities that can be done online, such as study sessions and recruitment activities.

There are some issues, such as not being able to get to know each other's personalities and not being able to get to know each other better, but I think we'll come up with ideas for improvements as we go along, so we'd like to gradually increase the level of fulfillment online!

I will be holding an online study session again.

We will be holding a Beyond study session online in June as well!
