[MEO] How to resolve errors when registering with Google My Business [Owner Verification]

Google's search engine states that by adding office or store information and enriching the content, it
will also be effective in "MEO (Map Engine Optimization)" when searching for that company or store.

Recently, Beyond GTA Inc. opened a new location for its Canadian office, and we registered and updated our business location on Google My Business for the first time in a while. However,
when we tried to "register and confirm the owner (name confirmation)," we encountered the following error and were unable to proceed, so we will describe the troubleshooting steps we took and how to resolve the issue.

How to resolve errors (items to be addressed when registering as an owner)

● 1. Send a photo of the exterior of your business, including any fixed signage, to Google My Business Support

・To confirm whether the target business actually exists,
it is necessary to confirm the business name on a "fixed sign" installed on the exterior of the base.
The sign must be fixed and cannot be easily removed or moved.

● 2. Edit the business name of your company or store

・Google My Business does not allow businesses
to register names that include words, pronunciations, advertising slogans, place names, store names, (), or other symbols that are not displayed on signs at the actual location.
The business name must be the same as the permanent sign.

If the business name registered on Google My Business does not match the name on your sign, you
will need to change it.

● 3. Set up a direct phone number to the company/store's local base

・You must set a direct phone number to your company or store's business location in the Google My Business admin screen.
*If you have just opened a business location and do not have a phone number, you can enter the phone number of your head office or other location as the forwarding address, but
in that case, you will need to submit a photo of the fixed sign (see "1. Material costs in the photo") as described above.

● 4. Include your address and phone number on your website

・You will need to register your company's website URL in the Google My Business management screen, but
it is essential that the address and telephone number of your business are listed in the information on that website (such as your company profile).

● 5. Receive a confirmation call from Google My Business Support

Once you have completed steps 1 to 4 above, Google My Business Support will call your business location to verify its existence. The
phone number set up on your website and in Google My Business will be used to contact your business location, so you
will need to provide Google My Business Support with the name of the person who will be answering the phone.

* Contact from Google My Business Support can also be made in Japanese.
* If there is a preferred time period for receiving phone calls, you can specify this in advance.
* Google My Business Support Business Hours: Monday to Thursday 9:30 to 18:00 / Friday 9:30 to 16:00 (excluding public holidays)
