Are you moving away from IE? [Internet Explorer]

Hello.
My heart is with LinkLocal
System Solutions Department, Kawai.

It's June!
May, with its long holiday, is over, and this is a time of year when we really need to shift our mindset.
The rainy season is starting in many places, but let's do our best!

Speaking of switching browsers, how is the browser migration progressing at your company?
That's right. As the title suggests, Microsoft's historically renowned browser, Internet Explorer (commonly known as IE),the end of its official support on June 15, 2022.will reach
(I didn't use it myself, but I feel that even the mightiest things must come to an end, similar to when Flash games were discontinued a while ago.)

This time, we'll be talking about this big news, which basically means, "Let's make the transition quickly."

*Updated 6/16:
Support has finally ended.
It's quite a poignant moment.

So what's the problem?

Ending support means that...
- Security updates will no longer be provided → This poses a risk
. - There is a risk that it will no longer be compatible with various systems and services → This could affect business operations
.

Microsoft has already announced that various apps will stop working, and just looking at thisdocument, it seems that applications like Teams have already reached end-of-support.
(Other website and service operators are probably busy dealing with the situation...)

IE superpower Japan

which publishes statistical informationStatCounter, Internet Explorer accounted for a staggering 1.79% of browser usage between April 2021 and April 2022.

(Unfortunately, I couldn't find the sample size for the graph,) but thisJapan's population of 125.05 million (as of May 1, 2022) according to the Statistics Bureau of the Ministry of Internalcomes out to about 2.23 million people compared to
Affairs and Communications. Also, from the description of "employees excluding executives (56.2 million)" in the Labor Force Survey (January 2022) by the Japan Institute for Labour Policy and Training, it seems that roughly 1 in 25 people who are working still use IE. Since Koshien Stadium holds about 50,000 people, 2.23 million people would mean that the number of people using IE is roughly equivalent to the number of games played (probably).

Migrate now

So, unless you have a strong preference, just use Microsoft Edge as Microsoft suggests!
⬇If you're using IE, a helpful guide will appear, so just launch it.

You can easily transfer your favorites by following the steps below

1. Launch Microsoft Edge and click [...] in the top right corner to open the Favorites menu

2. Click […] → [Import Favorites]

3. Select Internet Explorer from [Import Source], select the items you want to transfer, and click [Import] to complete the process
