We conducted this interview in the hope that it would be helpful to anyone interested in Beyond
Since the members who joined the company mid-career are able to look at Beyond objectively, we interviewed them about the interesting and surprising things they found when they joined Beyond

①What kind of work did you do in your previous job?
Responsible for pharmaceutical development (clinical trials)
② How did you come across Beyond and why did you join the company?
I wanted to be an engineer, and when I looked on a job site, I found out that I could have an interview, and during the interview I felt so excited that I decided to apply
③ Current responsibilities:
Involved in the development of educational materials systems
④What were some interesting or surprising things you noticed after joining the company?
・Daily general lunch meeting, where the person on duty shares the day's topics
I was surprised that everyone gathers every day for a midday meeting. Furthermore, the system where the person in charge presents the day's topic to everyone is interesting! It
's probably rare for all members to have a chance to see each other every day.
・Active greetings
Of course, people greet each other in the morning and when they leave, but they also greet each other actively during breaks and when they pass each other in open spaces
- Plenty of company events
I imagined there would be big events like year-end parties, but they actually hold some kind of event about once a month, and members interact actively with each other

①What kind of work did you do in your previous job?
I have no experience in a different industry, but I'm interested in becoming an infrastructure engineer
② How did you come across Beyond and why did you join the company?
I learned about Beyond through a job search website,their blogand after reading
③ Current responsibilities:
Server operation and maintenance work
④What were some interesting or surprising things you noticed after joining the company?
・Even though the work is down-to-earth, it has a certain charm
Infrastructure engineers do behind-the-scenes work, so I didn't have a glamorous image of it, but I feel like it's a glamorous job despite the down-to-earth nature of the work. Is it because the environment and the people are so cheerful?
Strong team spirit
There is a team structure, and the impression is that you work as a team rather than working individually
An atmosphere where everyone strives to grow
Beyond is keen to keep up with new technologies and information, and everyone shares it! There's
an atmosphere of growing together as a company, not just focusing on individual growth, and striving to improve our technical capabilities.

①What kind of work did you do in your previous job?
civil servant
He has an interest in the IT industry, having created websites as a hobby, and came to Beyond with the desire to gain more expertise
② How did you come across Beyond and why did you join the company?
I learned about Beyond on a job search website and was intrigued by the fact that the company has offices in Yokohama, Shikoku, Tokushima, and Canada in addition to Osaka
③ Current responsibilities:

④What were some interesting or surprising things you noticed after joining the company?
・I don't touch paper in my everyday work
When I was a civil servant, I often did everything on paper, so when I joined Beyond, I was surprised to see that there was almost no paper at all. I wondered if that was normal for an IT company...!
There is a sense of speed in the work
Because I can complete even small tasks quickly, my awareness of deadlines has changed.
Instead of working aimlessly, I'm always conscious of deadlines, which has increased my work productivity.
・Many opportunities to output
There are many opportunities to speak in front of others, such as during daily lunch meetings, presentations at training sessions, and presentations at in-house study sessions, and there are many opportunities to output. By giving presentations, you can check your understanding and further improve your technical skills

①What kind of work did you do in your previous job?
SES Sales
While working in sales, I studied technology, but I found it interesting and wanted to work more with technology, so I became an infrastructure engineer
② How did you come across Beyond and why did you join the company?
I found Beyond on a job site and was intrigued by the fact that they had a Canadian office
③ Current responsibilities:
Server operation and maintenance support, inventory of customer server maintenance, creation of operation procedures, etc
④What were some interesting or surprising things you noticed after joining the company?
・Saying "thank you" often in daily life
Everyone says "thank you" a lot. I hear it often in my daily life. I was surprised that they also said "thank you" there. I think Beyond's culture is good for working and interacting comfortably
・Lots of conversation
Of course, there are times when they work alone in silence, but I got the impression that they always work while communicating with each other

Salesperson for a Taiwanese electronic parts company
② How did you come across Beyond and why did you join the company?
I found Beyond on a job-hunting website and felt that it had a fun atmosphere, so I decided to apply
③ Current responsibilities:
System Development Department Sales
④What were some interesting or surprising things you noticed after joining the company?
・I had the impression that Japanese companies had strict hierarchical relationships, but everyone is friendly
Even when I was in Taiwan, I had the impression that Japan had a strict hierarchical structure, but contrary to that image, the atmosphere is good and it is easy to work there
- There is a bar and a shop run by company members
I was surprised to find out there was a bar, but even more surprised to learn they actually serve alcohol.
The shop sells drinks, ramen, and snacks, and I was surprised to learn that the company members handle the purchasing as well.
★Bonus
・At drinking parties in Taiwan, people eat a lot of food and drink alcohol, but in Japan, it seems like drinking is the main focus of the drinking party! (Is this a cultural difference between Taiwan and Japan?)

①What kind of work did you do in your previous job?
Responsible for heat treatment at a company that manufactures parts for large ships
② How did you come across Beyond and why did you join the company?
I became interested in infrastructure technology and was researching AWS certifications when Iblogcame acrosshere.
③ Current responsibilities:
for server operation and maintenance
(updating them to improve ease of use for areas where daily operations are difficult), and managing the expiration dates of SSL certificates.
④What were some interesting or surprising things you noticed after joining the company?
・There is energy to do something throughout the company
Many young people are making a name for themselves, and they have the energy to accomplish anything. They
frequently come up with ideas and try new things.
・There are club activities and company events
The company has a club activity system and many internal events, providing ample opportunities for members to interact.
The Organizational Culture Committee regularly holds events, fostering active internal communication.
・"I want to try it" actually leads to "Why not give it a try?"
There is an environment where any opinion you give is actually accepted and you are allowed to put it into practice

①What kind of work did you do in your previous job?
Salesperson selling ion implantation equipment
② How did you come across Beyond and why did you join the company?
I found Beyond on a job site and became interested. There are many companies that accept Chinese people living in Japan, but not many that accept people living in China, so I was happy. The impression I got from the interviewer at the interview made me intuitively think, "This is the place!"
③ Current responsibilities:
Dealing with customers in charge and developing new businesses
④What were some interesting or surprising things you noticed after joining the company?
・Free to choose clothing and hairstyle
I thought that suits and neat clothing were the norm for working adults, so I was surprised at how free Beyond was and thought, "Is this really a company?" It seems like the leaders have free hairstyles, so I think it's easy for the other members too
・It has a strong contrast
While there is a liberal system and atmosphere, there is also a good balance between working hard and getting things done when it is time to do so
・Incorporates opinions
There is an environment where your opinions are heard and taken into consideration.
Also, I learned that there are companies where employees' opinions are heard, such as when a club activity system was created based on employee suggestions, but there are few companies that actually implement it.
