News from Toronto 🍁 【TTC now accepts credit cards!】

Hello from Toronto!
This is Kawa from the Systems Solutions Department regarding internal NTP communication issues.
I'm currently on a business trip to the Beyond Canada office this month.
It's the end of summer here, and everyone is enjoying the summer to the fullest before it gets cold.
There are quite a few big events this month,CNEand
Greektown, and the area is especially lively on weekends.

following the change in Toronto's mayor last month, a new policy
news has been reported that,
How will it change?
Starting Tuesday, August 15, 2023 (EDT local time), credit cards will be accepted on TTC-affiliated transportation systems.
[Ontario Launching Credit and Debit Payment on TTC]
Until now, most people used cards like Pass or PRESTO cards (similar to ICOCA or SUICA), but
for more on PRESTOarticleplease see
simply by tapping your credit/debit card, oreven by tapping your smartphone or smartwatch app. How convenient!
What's best is that it will be usable not only on TTC but also on other lines such as GO
Available transportation options: GO Transit, UP Express, Brampton Transit, Burlington Transit, Durham Region Transit, Hamilton Street Railway, MiWay (in Mississauga), Oakville Transit and York Region Transit
Fee
Furthermore, as before, transfers within two hours of tapping the ticket gate are free of charge (this also applies to buses and streetcars),
and the basic adult fare remains a flat $3.30 (Canadian dollars), just like when paying with PRESTO.
*Please note that various discount fares are still only applicable with PRESTO.
As an added bonus, the purchase price of PRESTO was recently reduced from $6 to $4
Was there a lot of demand?
Since the introduction of PRESTO in 2009, it seems that customers have long requested the use of credit cards, similar to what happened in New York. It's truly a card-based society. While it
didn't happen for a while, the decline in customer numbers during the COVID-19 pandemic, coupled with the current recovery in customer numbers in the post-COVID era and the
change in mayor, seems to be contributing factors to the decision.
Visit Toronto
For tourists, the TTC is an essential means of transportation for sightseeing in Toronto. You can purchase a PRESTO card or use a credit card (after checking the reviews)
Since you don't have to carry cash, you can enjoy sightseeing with peace of mind
Trains and suchmapAs you can see, it's simple, consisting of only vertical and horizontal lines 1 and 2, plus branching lines 3 and 4. It's easy to remember
(It just stops often)
If I'm still alive, I'd like to write something about Toronto or Canada again!
See you then!
