[AZ-900] Until public relations staff passes Microsoft Azure Fundamentals
table of contents
Hello. I'm Komatsu, also known as Pikoma from public relations! (nickname changed)
These days I feel happy that winter has arrived. It's also nice to shiver in the cold.
previously earned the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
It's been a long time since I've had a chance to get some sort of qualification...so I decided to try out " AZ-900: Microsoft Azure Fundamentals " After studying hard, I managed to pass the exam, so I will write a blog about how I studied until I passed the exam.
What is Microsoft Azure Fundamentals?
Microsoft Azure Fundamentals tests your knowledge of Azure basics and concepts, Azure service management and security, cost management, etc.
Question range
1 | Explain cloud concepts | 25-30% |
---|---|---|
2 | Describe Azure architecture and services | 35-40% |
3 | Describe Azure management and governance | 30-35% |
In addition to basic knowledge of each item, there is also the issue of selecting the most appropriate service depending on the situation.
You can pass the exam with a score of 700 or above out of a possible score of 1,000. Some questions may be given partial points even if the answer is not completely correct.
What kind of qualifications are recommended for? What is the difficulty level?
Microsoft Azure Fundamentals is an entry-level certification in Azure. This content is for those who are new to Microsoft Azure and those who want to learn the basics such as what you can do with Azure. This will be an introductory qualification for those who are going to study cloud or Azure.
I had never used Azure before, and I started from a situation where I didn't really understand the basics. Even if you are not an engineer, this qualification is aimed at anyone related to the cloud in order to gain basic knowledge, so it is useful even for people like me who have no technical experience.
Microsoft Azure Fundamentals Overview

study method
I previously acquired the AWS certification ( AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner ), I decided on a date to take the exam and studied towards it. I was able to pass the AWS exam after studying for about 2 weeks, so I planned to study for the same amount of time this time as well (at first I thought I had plenty of time, but later I felt anxious). If you are thinking about taking the exam but are putting it off for some reason, first decide on a test date and apply to push yourself! From there, I have no choice but to study (lol)
What I did in this qualification study is...
- Repeat Udemy
- read the text
- Ask an engineer to show you the actual Azure portal screen
① Repeat Udemy
There are various types of textbooks and problem sets on Udemy, but I purchased the course below.
This is a set of 7 mock exam questions. The price I paid when I bought it was 1,800 yen (I recommend buying it when it's cheap).
For two weeks, Udemy was my friend on the way to and from the train. This involves repeating solving the problems, reading the explanations for the problems you got wrong, and loading the text. Personally, I think it is important to carefully read the explanations provided in the answers, so I made sure to understand the explanations.
②Read the text
I purchased the following on Kindle.
Microsoft Certification Exam Text AZ-900:Microsoft Azure Fundamentals
At first, I was relaxed and thought I could just solve the problems, but halfway through the book I started to get anxious about the mysteries, so I bought the textbook. I studied by rereading the parts I got wrong in the questions many times while memorizing the basic parts. When I have time, I open the text and just look at it.
When studying for a qualification, I used to purchase paper-based textbooks and carry them around, but this time I purchased a digital version for the first time. If you have a smartphone, you can study anywhere, so why did you stick to paper texts until now? It became.
③ Ask an engineer to teach you
I showed the Azure portal to an engineer and explained the areas of concern. I don't normally touch console screens like this in my work, so this is new to me. If you are taking the exam, you may want to take a look at the Azure portal (I don't think you need to do anything special if you use it regularly).
try studying
I was told that the official mock exam was also recommended, but I gave up. I focused on doing ① and ②, and I think I studied for about an hour and a half a day. There were four days off during the study period, and I don't remember what I did on two of those days, but I feel like I probably didn't study. I was camping for the remaining two days, and somehow I was reading a text while wrapped in a sleeping bag and by the bonfire.
My style is to concentrate and study hard on weekdays, and to relax and touch things a little on weekends. I think it's important to have sharpness in everything!
study time is probably around 20 hours Although it can only be used as a reference, I was able to successfully obtain the qualification even though I had no engineering experience. I think that each person has a different study time and study style, but I think it's best to continue studying in a way that suits you.
summary
Two weeks passed in the blink of an eye, and the day of the exam arrived. Passed the exam successfully! The score was 826 points Once you set your goal, the journey to get there will come quickly.
So far, I have summarized how to pass the AZ-900 exam for non-engineers. I don't know if it will be helpful, but I would be happy if it could be useful, especially for non-engineers who want to obtain qualifications.
Beyond multi-clouds , so our engineers have knowledge of various clouds. I am also quietly dreaming of learning the basics of other clouds and becoming a multi-cloud publicist someday.
*We will be uploading the path to passing the exam on YouTube later, so please take a look!
