[Company system] I took a refreshing vacation and tried various things

Hello, I'm Nagatani from the Systems Development Department.
In October, I took advantage of our company's "refreshment vacation" program to go sightseeing and have fun, so I'd like to share with you what I went through. This
article will be full of photos, so please bear with me.

What is the Refreshment Leave System?

Refreshment leave is a leave system that can be taken every five years by members who have been employed as full-time employees for five years or more. Members
can take two weeks of leave each time, and also receive a merit bonus of 100,000 yen.

Introduction

Since the vacation was also a honeymoon, my wife was usually with me.
The concept of this vacation was to "go to different places, eat, drink, have fun, and relax," so instead of a long-term trip, we just went to different places and had fun.

Now, let's introduce each pattern!

First, head to the Machida Squirrel Park

On the first day of my refreshing vacation, I went to the squirrel zoo in Machida, Tokyo.
My wife loves small animals and wanted to go to the squirrel zoo on this vacation, so we went right away on the first day.

They are free-roaming and when I bring food to them, they just climb up on my body (lol)

When I brought food close to its mouth, it grabbed it with its little hands, skillfully peeled the skin off, and ate it. It was so cute

Besides the squirrels, there were also guinea pigs and rabbits,
which were really cute.

Next up: Korea

After the squirrel park, we went to Korea, the main event of this holiday.
We departed from Narita Airport and arrived at Incheon Airport after about two and a half hours. We then took a bus to Seoul around 3pm, checked into the hotel, and first went to Gwangjang Market.

This traditional open-air market in Jongno-gu, Seoul was lined with many different stalls and was packed with people, especially since it was a holiday

I tried authentic tteokbokki at a food stall. It was chewy and delicious

I also went to a restaurant that specializes in Yukhoe.
It's been a while since I've had raw meat in Japan, so it was really delicious. I
also tried the moving octopus dish called Sannachi, which was really tasty (although the way it moved was a little gross).

On the second day, we went shopping in Myeongdong and saw NANTA

NANTA was chopping vegetables to the rhythm of a cooking musical.
I thought it was a bit of a waste of ingredients, but the show itself was really fun.

After visiting Myeongdong, we went to eat samgyeopsal at night.
The authentic samgyeopsal was delicious.
I ate so many other things that I ended up full (lol).

On the third day, we went on a tour of the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ).
I learned a lot about the history of South and North Korea, which was very informative.
I hope that North and South Korea can be unified in my lifetime.

On the fourth day, I briefly browsed for souvenirs and returned to Incheon Airport before heading back to Japan.
It was my first trip to Korea, but I was surprised to find that there were many people who could speak Japanese, making it a comfortable experience.
The cityscape was beautiful and the food was delicious, so I would like to go again if I have the opportunity.

After Korea, it's glamping in Chichibu

After enjoying my trip to Korea, I spent the day relaxing at home, then went to Chichibu for some glamping.
My wife and I had been talking about going there for a while, so we finally made it happen on this refreshing vacation.

I got to the site by taking the Chichibu Express and bus, and it was great that it was located in an area that was easily accessible by public transport

It was Halloween, so the decorations were Halloween-themed and it looked really stylish

The interior was decorated for Halloween, the rooms were clean and spacious, and it was a very comfortable space

At night, it was time for the long-awaited barbecue.
The meat was incredibly tender and delicious.
It was amazing to have a barbecue while listening to the sound of the river babbling.

After the barbecue, we had a bonfire and sipped hot wine.
Staring at the bonfire calmed my mind and I felt very relaxed.
I think I stared at the bonfire in silence for almost two hours (lol).

There was also a planetarium in the room, hot sandwiches for breakfast, and other services, so I was very comfortable and satisfied.
I would like to go glamping again if I have the opportunity.

Lastly, we went to Disney Sea

The final event of my refreshing vacation was a trip to Tokyo DisneySea,
my first visit in about six years.

The weather was great, and since it was a weekday during the off-season, there were relatively few people (although the wait was still about 70 minutes on average lol), so it
was comfortable and a lot of fun.

We secured a spot two hours before the show and were able to watch it from a special seat. It was powerful, beautiful and amazing

summary

It was the first time I'd taken such a long break since becoming a working adult, but I was able to go to many different places and spend a very meaningful time.
I'm so grateful to the company for giving me this opportunity, and to the members who worked hard in my place while I was away.
Thank you again!

That's all
