Migration Competition 2017 Overview
This time's topic is
We are migrating a certain e-commerce site.
Theme: I want to migrate my current system to a new environment.
[Something requested]
I would like to completely migrate the current environment to the new environment.
I would like a report on the implementation details and results.
When the system is shut down, we need to notify users, so we would like to hear from you.
It's an old environment that I've been using for a long time, so I'd like it to be updated.
If possible, I would like to switch so that it does not affect users.
I would appreciate it if you could have some information about the server.
If possible, I would like to be able to take backups since I don't have any backups at the moment. If
possible, I would like to make the system redundant as the number of users will increase in the future.
If possible, I would be happy if the necessary information for handing over to a new infrastructure engineer is compiled.[Comment from the person in charge]
There have been a lot of organizational changes and there is no longer anyone who understands the system.
I've been using it for quite some time, so I thought it would be a good time to refresh it.
Business on the site continues, so I would be happy if the impact on users is as minimal as possible.
Oh yeah, a new infrastructure engineer is scheduled to join the company soon, so I'd be happy if that person could take over the job.
Actually, I want to do a lot of NOW-like things and make it feel good.
This is the content.
It seems very rewarding.
It looks really interesting, but there is an age limit for participation and only people under 30 can participate.
At our company, three young employees participated last year.
In the end, they didn't win any prizes, but they were able to gain valuable experience and it seems to have been quite stimulating. Three young employees are planning to participate this year, so I'm looking forward to seeing what the results will be.
How to apply
Even if you do not belong to a member company of the Japan MSP Association, you can participate if you are under 30 years old on the day of the event, so
if you are an infrastructure engineer, why not consider participating?
