[Become a Manager] I participated in the MG training!

Hello, this is Sakashita from Beyond Co., Ltd.!

Beyond Co., Ltd. conducts employee training called MG (Management Game) training once a year

The 2018 MG training was held the other day! I also participated for the first time!!

This time, the event was held jointly with PourVous Co., Ltd., so we will report on the event!

Management Game (MG Training)

What is Management Game (MG)?

Management games are management simulation games developed in 1976

Simply put, a game where everyone becomes a president, devise business strategies, and run a company .

There is a special game board like the one in the picture, and participants are set as the president of a manufacturing company

The game board is used to manufacture and sell products

Then record the transaction in the books,

This will be compiled into financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement)

There are six people at each table, and the game is played in groups A, B, and C

The game ends when the time or number of transactions reaches a certain number each period

After that, financial statements are prepared and the accounts are settled

The teams are divided into groups based on sales revenue each period

We completed five sessions over two packed days, from 9am to around 7pm!

MG training begins!

In the first period, in order to understand the rules, we played the game as instructed by the teacher

With the first season now over, everyone's tiredness is clearly visible on their faces... I'm really very tired..

We will actually start doing it ourselves from the second term!!

In the second term, I had a hard time because I didn't have a clear understanding of the rules and couldn't keep up with the pace of the game

The sale of the product will be by auction, but if you worry too much, you will end up not being able to bid

The ability to make quick decisions is extremely important

As a result of the second fiscal year, I was unable to make a profit and ended up in the red..

We still had some equity left, so we avoided bankruptcy, but we did end up taking out loans

Preparing financial statements is extremely difficult, and most people complete them while struggling with a calculator in hand!!

I played the game in Group A, which has had the highest sales since the fourth quarter

Senior rules have been added for advanced players, and it's very difficult just to keep up..

I had to think about strategy even more than I did under the junior rules, so I really had to use my brain for the first time in a while over the two days! (laughs)

The game is over! Now onto the awards!

During the MG training, various awards are given

In order of highest equity capital, highest sales for each period, highest numerical value of financial statements, etc

Various rankings were announced, and the award ceremony was held after the completion of five periods

The award recipient was none other than Tsuyoshi Nakagawa from our System Solutions Department, who was participating for the first time!

There was only one person with a net worth of over 300, so he was awarded first place!

Nakagawa is always really good at games, and he showed his talent again this time!

congratulations!!

By the way, I was also recognized for being on the team with the highest sales and surviving for two terms! Yay!!

What I learned from the seminar

The purpose of this training was to "make decisions on your own,"

I played the game with that goal in mind!

In MG training, the number of decisions

Even if you start with the same amount of money and conditions, management will change with each decision,

Sales and profits also change, so I really felt that it all depends on the decisions made by management

MG training teaches you that " after 25 years you will understand accounting, and after 50 years you will understand management.

It is said that " strategies are understood after 75 terms, and people change after 100 terms

That's how influential MG is

After completing this MG training, all of our company members have participated in the training at least once!

We will continue to hold MG training sessions so that all employees can think about management and

I will do my best to help grow the company!
