What it means to work at a satellite office - A weekend exchange meeting at the former Masami Ryokan -

This is Nishimaru from the Shikoku office. Just the sunshine lifts my spirits

In July,
heavy rain fell for a short period in Miyoshi City, Tokushima Prefecture, where our Shikoku office is located.

Amidst all this, there was one sunny day, and
a large-scale networking event was held at the satellite office located in the former Masaumi Ryokan!

The main event of the social gathering was a Nagashi somen noodle dish made using real bamboo.

Perfect weather, delicious food, people who make you smile when you're with them...
this blog post is chock full of the good things about satellite offices

So, I would like to introduce you to the social gathering held at the former Masaumi Ryokan satellite office

What is a networking event?

Networking events are held regularly between companies housed at the former Masaumi Ryokan.
The role of organizer for these events rotates between the six companies currently housed there, and each company is free to plan their own events. I have
a feeling that it will soon be Beyond's turn, and I'm excited...

As the event was held on July 7th,
the decorations were all Tanabata-themed, with real bamboo and paper strips.

First, let's take a look at the preparations. Everything is handmade.
The families of employees from each company, from adults to children, are having fun.

It was a very sunny and hot day, but the team continued to fry food in a room without air conditioning.
I am so grateful.

This is the team preparing the surprise cake.
Amazing quality.

By the way, I, Nishimaru, was supposed to participate from Beyond, but I had
to work that day. I joined partway through during my lunch break, so
I wasn't able to help with the preparations or cleanup...
It's a bit disappointing, as everyone was dividing up the tasks and seemed to be having fun preparing...

Finally the party begins

just as the surprise cake was brought out, so
it felt like a party from the get-go.

Most of the people had already finished their meal and seemed full, but they
kindly washed it again.

Nishimaru also catches some somen noodles

Our company's Li was lucky enough to be able to participate, and for the first time in his life, he ate it while washing it

Although I only participated for an hour, I thoroughly enjoyed it

The good things about our satellite office that I learned through the networking event

You can connect with people beyond the boundaries of your company

We hold regular networking events where
we have lively conversations about everything from work-related topics about each other's companies to personal matters such as hobbies and favorite restaurants.

You can decide whether or not to participate in the networking event at your own pace

"I'm not really good at large drinking parties..."
"I have work I want to do that day..."
You don't have to participate!!!

No one forces you to participate.
Even at Beyond, it is often not possible for everyone to participate, but
those who can participate enjoy themselves for as long as they can.

Interact with local people and nature

This social gathering was attended not only by employees of the company that is staying at the former Masaumi Ryokan and their families, but
who are always kind to us, such as the owner of a restaurant that we always patronize and the person who manages the former Masaumi Ryokan
.

When I visit the store or meet them somewhere in town, they are all kind and willing to talk to me

.

The environment in which you can work surrounded by magnificent nature and warm people
may be something that is only possible at a satellite office in Miyoshi City.

It was at a networking event one weekend that I felt there was a possibility that some people might be able to work in an environment that is even better than working in the city

Honami Nishimaru

The nickname given to Mr. Inoue, a member of the same Shikoku office, was "Bambi."
I was told that I resemble a certain small deer character. What an honor... I am working hard every day to balance work and family in order to become a great engineer.
