The Web Services Division, which plans, develops, and operates Beyond's in-house services is looking for a "Server Side Engineer" to support our services together

This time, we interviewed the leader of the Web Services Division about ``What kind of engineer are you looking for?'' and ``What kind of person would be a good fit for Beyond?''

Interview with the Web Services Division, a department with dreams

What kind of department is the Web Services Division?

-First of all, please introduce yourself!

Kida: My name is Kida and I am the leader of Beyond's web services division. He was actually working part-time when he joined Beyond. Beyond was a company that welcomed him regardless of his past experience, so he was asked to become an employee and was assigned to a department that planned and operated new businesses. Currently, we are managing content for ``Edison Reservation'' and ``Apumil.'' I also do some design work from time to time.

-What kind of things does the Web Services Division do?

Kida : It originally started as a new business division, and it is a department that creates , plans , and operates the company's content that will be disseminated as Beyond .

Kida: There are three team members consists one part-time worker , one full-time employee, and one leader , and is run with external partners in mind. I think it's a special department within Beyond. Whether it's advertising or development, we have partners, and we work together to move towards our goals.

What kind of person is the Web Services Division looking for?

Kida: Although we claim that our content is our own, we actually do some development work on contract. Edison Reservations is a general-purpose system, so we accept orders for customized reservations that are tailored to the customer's situation. Therefore, we are looking for a development engineer in that area.

Kida: Thanks to you, the number of customers and companies adopting Edison Reservations is constantly increasing, but we need to continue updating the service functions more frequently and improving the usability of the service. This approach also applies Apmil I would like new server - side engineers to work at both Edison and Apmil . Currently, due to limited resources, there are some areas that are not being touched upon, but this is a department that originally has to plan new businesses, so I would like to be involved in creating new services from the start-up stage.

-Will you be launching new services in the future?

Kida: Well, if it's the " synergistic service" that Beyond has been promoting since this season . I don't think I 'll suddenly start using matching apps . Anything long as there is synergy . I don't know if any idea will sell or not , but I have the spirit of making it and giving it a try , so maybe if Beyond is having trouble right now with something `` matching app for engineers and companies , ' I might make one. I don't know. This position may be suitable for someone who wants to develop a service and grow it.

Kida: Since in - house services require the same members to keep developing the same service over and over again , we are looking for engineers with the horsepower to concentrate on one service . It's a small department and it's difficult to create buzz with your content, but if you can establish a position, you'll become a highly valued person, and I think there are a lot of opportunities in the Web Services Division. . We are more than just workers, and no matter what kind of work we do, each person plays a leading role, so it's easy to get a good reputation as a team.

What kind of person is suitable for this position?

-Is there something that this person is suitable for?

Kida: Rather than someone who is a ` `technical only wants to do development , it might be more suitable for people who `` want to be involved in upstream processes such as planning and design or ` ` be involved in marketing to some extent '' I don't know. I don't want to be a marketer, but I think it's suitable for people who want to express their opinions like ``I think this is better'' while developing. Also , it might be perfect for people who like analysis or competitive research . Are you someone who is always sensitive to new trends ?

-I see, an image come to mind . Is there `` this kind of personality suits you'' ?

Kida: Rather than working as a department , we need to work beyond people who are bright . It's totally fine if the person is not bright, but there are a lot of bright people, especially at companies in Osaka. So, I don't mind bright people (lol).

-I see (lol) That's true.

Kida: It might be a little difficult for people who don't like being talked to . It's a company that wants to talk about everything and move forward, so I think it's better to have people who are comfortable with this. After all, who can multitask . Self-propelled ability is often talked about , but I think self-propelled ability comes with experience , so I 'm not looking for that from the beginning .

Kida: What you're looking for from the beginning is whether or not someone can get along well Because we are a department that cannot survive without collaboration with other departments and partners, part of our job is to connect with people and make allies. Also, ``people who are quick with their hands.'' Rather than someone who wants plenty of time to worry about things , more of an open who just wants to give it a try . We're looking for people who are quick and have the mindset of, ``If I fail, I'll do the next thing.''

Kida: Of course we will have a meeting right away . We think about whether or not there will be synergies within the department before bringing it up in a meeting , it doesn't matter if you've been here for a month or three years , if we come with a good idea , we have a system immediately tackle It's in place. I guess it's like, "Let's create a mega service."
