Suddenly, in November 2023, I went on a business trip to the Shikoku office for a week (Monday to Friday)

Original purpose of the business trip

Infrastructure engineers in the System Solutions Department often go on business trips on a regular basis to deepen interaction with members of the Shikoku office

I had never been there before, so it felt like it was my turn this time.

Take the express bus on the morning of departure

There is a convenient express bus route directly from Umeda to Miyoshi City, Tokushima Prefecture, where our Shikoku office is located. (convenience)

On that day, I woke up early and boarded a bus (four rows of seats) at Hankyu Sanbangai Bus Terminal in Umeda.

Taking a break at the service area

The travel time is approximately 3 hours and 50 minutes, with a short break at Murotsu PA (Awaji City, Hyogo Prefecture) along the way.

I can't take a picture of it, but the PA is located on the coast of Awaji Island, so the scenery is really nice.

I like taking breaks in SA because I get excited by the unfamiliar air and unfamiliar scenery.

Awa Ikeda Bus Terminal

A 4-minute walk from JR Awa-Ikeda Station, get off at Awa-Ikeda Bus Terminal (terminal stop) in front of Miyoshi City Hall.

Ikeda-cho, Miyoshi City is a riverside town located between mountains, and is an area rich in nature where you can feel the presence of mountains and rivers, something you don't often see in the city.

By the way, the ``Shopping Center: Frespo Awa Ikeda'' (supermarket/restaurant) located in the back is a great place to purchase food and drinks for your accommodation or for lunch.

Shikoku Office (formerly Masami Ryokan)

About a 4-minute walk from Awa-Ikeda Bus Terminal, you will find the Former Masami Ryokan (Old Building), which houses the Shikoku Office

The facility looks completely like an inn, so at first glance it doesn't look like a satellite office building.

This old inn is a fairly retro building, with the exterior and interior of the original inn remaining, giving it a charming atmosphere.

Is this the office? ! Beyond's Shikoku office was more than I expected

Started working at Shikoku office

Like the Osaka office, we have a free address system, and the equipment such as displays at the Shikoku office is basically the same as at other locations.

Therefore, you can carry out your work without any particular inconvenience.

a retro Western-style room that's completely located inside an inn, and the size of the room is just right, and my impression is that it has a quiet and cozy coffee shop-like atmosphere.

The offices are connected via online video conferencing, so you can communicate with the Osaka office not only by chat but also verbally.

Accommodation/Night in Miyoshi City (Ikeda Town)

For this business trip, I will be staying at a lodging in the shopping district in front of JR Awa-Ikeda, about a 5-minute walk from the Shikoku office.

retro public bath (sauna, cold bath, PayPay compatible) near this area , and there are a lot of snacks, so you can feel the atmosphere of the town very much reminiscent of the Showa era.

Also, you can see it faintly on the right side of the photo, but for some reason the streetlights in the park are a pale pink color. Moreover, the amount of light from the street lights is strong, so the result is a very glossy look.

Because of this, it has a very special atmosphere, and when combined with the Showa-era townscape, it makes you feel something out of the ordinary, which is fun.

Meal situation during business trip

At noon, I went to lunch with members of the Shikoku office and also had dinner in the evening, deepening our friendships.

Of course, it doesn't happen every day, so there are days when I go out to eat by myself or spend some time relaxing at the hotel.

During my business trip, I ate out a lot, and it was a week that made my palate happy.

The week is over and I'm heading home

On the last day, I took the bus at 5pm and went straight home.
When buying souvenirs, the convenience store in front of the station (but be careful as it closes at 8pm) was convenient.
