[Business trip report] Infrastructure engineer to Shikoku office (Miyoshi City, Tokushima Prefecture)

Hello everyone.

I work in the System Solutions Department and I'm always struggling with the choice of whether to buy something with high functionality (and therefore a high price) or value for money.

This may be sudden, but in November 2023 I went on a one-week business trip (Monday to Friday) to the Shikoku office

Our company, Beyond, has an office in Shikoku in Ikeda-cho, Miyoshi City, Tokushima Prefecture I picked up my keyboard to let you know that I can go on a business trip to this office in a very casual manner

So, I don't feel intimidated"This is exactly what happened in real life,"DiaryCasual business trip reportWe will send you the following

The original purpose of the business trip

Infrastructure engineers in the System Solutions Department often go on regular business trips to deepen their interactions with members of the Shikoku office

I've never been there before, so it feels like my turn has finally come

On the morning of departure, board the express bus

There is a direct express bus route from Umeda to Miyoshi City, Tokushima Prefecture, where our Shikoku office is located. (Convenient)

I got up early on the day and boarded the bus (with four rows of seats) at the Hankyu Sanban-gai Bus Terminal in Umeda

Taking a break at the service area

The travel time is approximately 3 hours and 50 minutes, with a short break at Murozu PA (Awaji City, Hyogo Prefecture) along the way

Although I didn't capture it in a photo, the PA is located on the coastal side of Awaji Island, so the view is amazing

I like taking breaks at SA because I get excited by the unfamiliar air and unfamiliar scenery

Awa Ikeda Bus Terminal

It is a 4-minute walk from JR Awa-Ikeda Station and you can get off at the Awa-Ikeda Bus Terminal (last stop) located in front of Miyoshi City Hall

Ikeda-cho in Miyoshi City is a riverside town nestled between mountains, and is a region rich in nature where you can feel the presence of mountains and rivers, something you don't often see in the city

By the way, the shopping center at the back, Frespo Awa Ikeda (including a supermarket and restaurants), is a very convenient place to buy food and drinks for your accommodation or for lunch

Shikoku Office (formerly Masaumi Ryokan)

The former Masaumi Ryokan (old building), which houses our Shikoku office, is about a 4-minute walk from Awa Ikeda Bus Terminal .

It looks exactly like an inn, so at first glance it doesn't look like a satellite office building

This old building is quite retro, and the exterior and interior of the original inn remain, giving it a charming feel.

There is also a Beyond sign installed

If you are visiting, please use this as a landmark and enter with confidence. (There is a dedicated call bell for the Beyond Shikoku office in the entrance.)

Inside the Shikoku office

For more information on the interior of the Shikoku office, please see the Shikoku office introduction article below, which provides a detailed introduction

There is also a video, so if you want to learn more about our Shikoku office, this article is perfect for you!

Is this the office? ! Beyond's Shikoku office was more than I expected

Started working at the Shikoku office

Like the Osaka office, we have a free address system, and the displays and other equipment at the Shikoku office are basically the same as those at other locations

This allows you to carry out your work without any inconvenience.

The room is a retro Western-style room set within a traditional Japanese inn, and the size is just right. The author's impression is that it has the atmosphere of a quiet and cozy coffee shop.

Our offices are connected via online video conferencing, so we can communicate with the Osaka office not only by chat but also verbally

Accommodation and Nightlife in Miyoshi City (Ikeda Town)

For this business trip, I will be staying at a lodging facility located in the shopping district in front of JR Awa Ikeda Station, about a 5-minute walk from the Shikoku office

a truly old-fashioned, retro public bathhouse in the area (with sauna, cold bath, and PayPay support) , and there are also a large number of snack bars, giving the townscape a very Showa-era feel and a certain charm.

Also, as you can see faintly on the right side of the photo, the streetlights in the park are a pale pink color for some reason. Moreover, the light from the streetlights is very strong, which results in a very glossy look

Because of this, it creates a very special atmosphere, which, combined with the Showa-era townscape, gives you a sense of something out of the ordinary, which is fun.

Food situation during business trips

We deepened our friendships by going to lunch with members of the Shikoku office and having dinner together in the evening

Of course, this doesn't happen every day, so there are days when I go out to eat alone or spend time relaxing at my accommodation

Butter chicken curry from an Indian curry restaurant in a shopping center

Chinese noodles from a shop near the shopping street

I ate out a lot during my business trip, so it was a week that delighted my taste buds

The week ends and we head home

On the last day, I took the 5pm bus straight home.
The convenience store in front of the station was convenient for buying souvenirs (but be aware that it closes at 8pm).

What did you do during your business trip?

There are basically no instructions to "do this" while on a business trip!

basically be performing the same tasks as when you are in the Osaka office.

I also developed strong relationships with members of the Shikoku office, but there's no need to worry about being forced to go out drinking every day

lastly

Weekly ContentRoughlyIn addition to the simple summary and lack of literary talent, "I got the most popular hairstyle in Canada on a business trip."Since there were no interesting episodes like these, the content ended up being like a ``summer vacation diary with no climax or punchline,'' which left the teacher at a loss for words

So I'm wondering if there's any demand for this article, but I hope it gives you a feel for the real flow and atmosphere of a business trip!

To be honest, it was a week that provided me with a different kind of stimulation than usual and gave me a break

Good things about business trips

The author is workingFun chatWe deepened our interactions with members of the Shikoku office through business meetings and lunches

This has made communication much easier than before the business trip, and I feel like it has made it easier for us to work together on our business

We are also looking for people who want to work in our Shikoku office!

This concludes my casual business trip report, but I will also make an announcement at the end

Beyond is looking for people to work with us
