I participated in the "Linux System Management Basics Seminar @Osaka".

This is Nakagawa from the System Solutions Department.
recently attended Linux System Management Basics Seminar hosted by LPI-Japan

I decided to participate because I was interested in seminars held externally,
to increase my basic knowledge of Linux, and to reconfirm the knowledge I had learned during the LPIC exam.

Seminar content

The contents of this seminar were as follows.

  • Managing root privileges
  • Network settings
  • service management
  • package management
  • system monitoring
  • log management

The lecturer was
Toru Miyahara , CEO and CEO of Biginet Co. He is also involved in writing the ``Linux System Management Standard Textbook,'' which was used as the text for this seminar.

I obtained the LPIC LEVEL 1 qualification last year, but I learned a lot of new knowledge by attending this seminar.

  • How to log in to the server with SSH
  • Each service startup setting centered on CestOS7.0 series
  • Notes on MAC address settings when replicating virtual servers

I learned many things that are often involved in my work, such as these, and points that I will need for my future work.
There were also explanations and solutions for problems that took time to solve in the past
, and I wish I had taken the course earlier.

This is what the seminar looks like.

Particularly interesting was the content on system monitoring.
I was given detailed explanations of how to define CPU load and how to isolate failures, which are often involved in my work.
It was a good opportunity to broaden my horizons by learning how to isolate obstacles from a different perspective than usual.

By the way, at the back of the lecture room,
there were rows of Linux-related books and texts used in technical analysis seminars.

I was surprised by the number of related books!

At the end

This time it was held in a lecture format, but
there are also seminars where you bring your own laptop and build a server.
In addition to Linux systems, many technical explanations related to the LPIC exam are also held.
I will actively participate in the next seminar to deepen my knowledge of Linux.
