My language barrier after jumping from nursing to the IT industry (words used in conversation and their meanings)

Hello
, nice to meet you. My name is Inoue, and I joined the Beyond Shikoku office in March. As someone who
jumped into the IT industry, a completely different field with no prior experience, my mind was filled with
over the conversations between employees
It felt like we were speaking different native languages; I couldn't understand what they were saying.
I couldn't communicate.

"Ohhhhhh! Speak in words I can understand!!"

I couldn't be so naive as to say something so honest, so I just smiled politely

Three months into my job... I'm too embarrassed to ask anyone!
But I'll introduce some commonly used terms in the IT industry that I secretly learned from Google and books!
I'll also include my (unspoken) feelings as a bonus.
I'd be happy if you read it without thinking, "This is an unnecessary bonus."

We use it all the time, but what does it really mean? IT Glossary

Defaults

Initial settings, initial conditions. These are pre-installed settings.
(Does that mean they're standard features? Please explain it in Japanese!)

To rearrange the schedule or change the plans.
(I don't know what it was, but there was a problem with the schedule. Got it!)

Things are progressing according to schedule.
(Is it a unique or unusual name? Or is it someone's nickname?)

(It's like ham, right?)

(Looks like you're making ham!)

trial and error

It's about trial and error.
(I'm the type who likes to be extremely cautious and analyze things thoroughly!)

archive

This refers to reducing the file size while preserving its contents, and then saving it to a different location.
(Like compressing and cramming it in—like changing clothes for the season?)

The parts that humans interact with in computer mode. Like the keyboard and mouse.
(Just "keyboard and mouse" is fine, right?)

table

It refers to a spreadsheet like those in Excel.
(I only know what a desk is!)

debugger

Software that detects and corrects errors on a computer.
(Sounds powerful...)

debug

Software that tests programs to find and fix bugs.
(A fairly high-quality-looking bag ♪)

A command or signal that triggers the start of some kind of action.
(Isn't it a tiger? Grrr!)

It's a name used to identify computers and networks on the internet.
(They're totally the main characters!)

It refers to a partial program within a larger whole.
(Like stylish interior design!)

idol

This refers to a state where the system is available but no processing is being performed.
(You mean those cute girls who sing and dance, right? I know! I know!)

(You mean a staircase that automatically goes up and down, right?)

Assign

To appoint, to assign.
(Acai is a girl's best friend! I've never eaten it though.)

The number of times a page has been viewed.
(Promotional video?)

summary

■There are a lot of katakana words!
■There are a lot of abbreviated words in the Roman alphabet!

Communication is essential for smooth work progress.
Everyday communication is conversation.
To overcome this, we need to keep studying.
To those of you thinking, "Jumping into the IT industry is impossible for me..." or to
those of you who have just entered the IT industry!
There's so much we don't know... but let's work hard together!

Growing every day, moving forward every day.
I must update myself every single day!!!
