Hello
This is Goto from the Web Services Division. I've had three consecutive months where my expenses exceeded my income , and when I think about it in the long run , I'm starting to feel like my life is in danger
I had prided myself on being able to save money safely, but I wonder where I went wrong
However, perhaps for now, even if I do something so reckless, it won't cause any trouble to anyone
Now, when we say "only for now," many people probably associate it with "youth," right?
Youth is generally thought of as something that is limited to the teenage years and is perceived as a symbol of transience, but
I wanted to change that way of thinking, so I proposed within the company that we start a club activity system
That's the story for today
I was appointed to the 5th Organizational Culture Committee, so I came up with a club activity system
The reason I'm starting this blog post with this is because I've recently been appointed as the chairperson of the "Organizational Culture Committee," an internal committee at Beyond Inc
Therefore, we have devised a new internal company system called the "Club Activities System." From here on, we will explain the background behind the proposal for the Club Activities System and its details !
First of all, you might be wondering, "What is an organizational culture committee?"
We will explain this below
What is the Organizational Culture Committee?

The Organizational Culture Committee (commonly known as "Soshibun") is an internal committee that plans and implements events and systems to promote interaction among company members across departments and generations
To put it simply, the ones who liven things up within the organization.
The Organizational Culture Committee has previously contributed to revitalizing the organization in various ways, such as through the "Leader Lunch System," which allows leaders from other departments and locations to communicate with each other over lunch, and the publication of the "Beyond Encyclopedia," which allows employees to view introductions of company members anytime on a dedicated website .
Incidentally, when I was a student, I used to quietly spend my time in the corner of the classroom, and even now, at large drinking parties, I like to sit in the corner and quietly listen to what others have to say. I'm also the type of person who, at group dates, would get yelled at by the girls for not saying anything , so I don't understand why I've been given the mission of being the life of the party in this organization. However, since I've been appointed to the role, I'm trying my best every day to be of service.
Goal for this term: I want to create opportunities for strong relationships to develop

Despite being such an introverted person, I 've been thinking about various ways to improve my relationships
I feel that even at this stage, everyone at Beyond gets along pretty well, but we're aiming to reach even greater heights from here
Therefore, what I felt was necessary to reach even greater heightsbuilding strong relationships.
To be more specific, like everyone having friends within the company they can easily talk to about anything.
While I certainly believe it's important to have a wide network of relationships, I've come to realize that it's deep, meaningful relationships, even if they're small , that truly provide emotional support in times of need and enrich our lives
Also, colleagues you're close enough to hang out with on your days offmight be commonplace for extroverted people, I think there are others who aren't like that.
Therefore, this term, while we won't make it mandatory, we hope to create opportunities for each individual to build close relationships within the company at a comfortable distance
How do you build strong relationships?
How do deep human relationships come about?
I personally don't mind spending time alone and have never intentionally made friends, so to be honest, I didn't know what to do at first
(As a result, I was what you'd call a loner at the university I was attending . Looking back now, I regret it.)
Is communication the key to becoming friends?
It's true that chatting a lot can help you become friends with a variety of people, so there's no doubt that chat-based communication is important
However, I feel that casual conversations often remain superficial . (This tendency is especially strong in large groups.) Also, I'm introverted and often find it difficult to join in conversations, so I personally don't get to become close to people in large group chats
Furthermore, Socibun has already been creating opportunities for casual conversation, and this will continue this term, but this term we hope to be able to approach organizational revitalization from a different perspective
Why club activities? The benefits of participating in club activities within the company

That 's when I had an idea : "Why not try starting a company-wide club activity program?"
Having company clubs and activities would naturally bring together people with shared hobbies , allowing them to work hard on something together and enjoy themselves
To summarize in bullet points, I believe that club activities have the following effects:
- People who share common interests gather together
- Non-work-based conversations emerge
- Time to meet outside of work naturally arises
- You can share time to enjoy and seriously pursue the things you love
⇛Become closer
I believe all of the above are important elements for building strong relationships, but as a first step, I think it's essential to "spend time meeting outside of work" after hours or on weekends
If you meet outside of work, the conversation will naturally turn to topics unrelated to work, which will likely increase the opportunities to become friends
Furthermore, sharing not only fun butalso the experience of "working hard with all your might" is equally important for deepening relationships. This is because experiences such as helping each other towards a goal like a competition or tournament, and sharing the joy and sorrow of the results, are events that deeply move people's hearts, and I think that the bonds with those who spend such time together naturally deepen.
For the reasons above, this term Socibun has decided to propose a club activity system
Get support from the company! Overview of the club activity system
With the above background in mind, I proposed a "club activity system" to the members of Socibun and their representative, Haraoka, and they readily agreed, saying, "Why don't you give it a try?"
I am once again grateful for the open and collaborative atmosphere of this company, which allows us to adopt new systems with a " let's try it" spirit . Below, I will briefly introduce the outline of the club activity system
Overview of the club activities system
- Members with common interests gather together within the company and engage in activities on holidays, etc
- Expenses can be reimbursed within the prescribed limits during activities
- The purpose is to share serious and engrossing experiences and deepen friendships
Conditions for establishing club activities
- There are three or more applicants
- There is a clear goal for the activity (not just having fun, but having a sense of purpose)
As stated above, club activities approved by Representative Haraoka and the Organization and Culture Committee can reimburse individual activity expenses up to once a month
With subsidies from companies like this, it may be easier for more people to say, "Let's give it a try!"
Here are some of the clubs that have been established:
Several club activities have already been established at Beyond, and we will introduce them below
①Sauna Club
Number of members: 12 people
Director Morita recruited members within a few hours of the year-end party, and this club activity quickly became the largest in popularity
Right from the start, a club activity that didn't seem like a club activity was born
However, Morita has an incredible passion for saunas
In terms of enthusiasm, I think I'm more involved in club activities than any other club activities (?)
By the way, I also love saunas, so I belong to it
Below is an article in which Morita talks passionately about saunas like a heat wave
②Ganbanyoku (rock sauna) section
Number of members: 4 people
This club activity was established as a follow-up to the sauna club
The bedrock bath area is less austere than the sauna, and attracts people who prefer to sweat gently
(According to the club president, it wasn't started to compete with the sauna club.)
Another notable feature is that the bedrock bathing club includes female members.(Although the sauna club also welcomes women, to some extent...)
This is also not a typical club activity (more like a circle?), but when applying, we were asked to come up with club-like goals, and our establishment was successfully approved
In any case, as someone who created the system, I am very happy that they have established the club
I hope you will deepen your relationship through bedrock bathing
③Board Game Club
Number of members: 10 people
This is a club activity where students can fully enjoy gaming content, which is closely related to Beyond's business
This club, started by an employee who loves board games, has become very popular, with many employees who were completely unfamiliar with board games saying it's "fun."
I'm grateful for all the activities you've done
④ Extra: Mountain Climbing Club (not established)
The mountain climbing club , which was being planned by representative Haraoka and the system solutions department manager, is currently not recognized as an official club due to a lack of members. (Three prospective members were required for establishment.)
I was very kind enough to be invited to join them, but I politely declined because I'm afraid of the insects that might be in the mountains
I hope that one day someone who loves mountain climbing will join our company
⑤Music Club (to be established)
This is a club activity that I am planning to start
For some reason, Beyond has a lot of members with experience playing instruments, so it looks like it's going to be a very exciting event
I'm thinking it would be fun if this club could take charge of entertainment at company parties and create a company song
Even working adults can enjoy their youth through club activities!
I've talked about various aspects of club activities, but ultimately, my main goal is to fulfill this old man's desperate attempt to relive the "youthful" experience that can only be had during one's teenage years, even after becoming a working adult!
First of all, what exactly is youth? I think of youth as "memories that make you feel nostalgic and think, 'Those were the good old days...'"
Compared to student life, working life tends to be viewed negatively, but if you are blessed with good relationships while immersing yourself in your work and hobbies, I think you can still have a youthful time as a working adult!
It's a little embarrassing to say something like this out loud on a blog, but the Organizational Culture Committee will continue to experiment so that as many people as possible can increase their positive experiences through club activities
[Summary] The future of the club activity system
I have introduced this system in a casual manner, but I hope that in the future it will lead to the creation of club activities that take part in some kind of competition. If there is a goal such as winning a competition, club activities will become even more enthusiastic. There are still many challenges to overcome in order to establish such a club activity culture within the company
We only have about six months left in our term, and we would like to complete it by doing everything we can
By the way, if you're interested in Beyond, please take a look at ourrecruitment website!
Thank you for watching until the end!
