Enjoy Canadian summer! Introducing summer events held in Toronto

Nice to meet you! This is my first post on the Beyond Blog. I'm TK, an engineer working in the Canadian office

Speaking of Canada, you might imagine it as a cold country. Yes, that's correct. Snow starts falling every year around November, and temperatures stay below zero until around April

On the other hand, in the summer the temperature doesn't rise that much, the humidity is low, and the sun sets at 9:30pm, so the days are long and it's very comfortable

Since it's summer, there are a lot of events happening between June and September. Here we'll introduce a selection of annual events that anyone can enjoy!

Taste of the Danforth

Taste of Danfourth

Toronto's largest street festival, held every June, is held in Greektown on the east side of the city, and features Greek food stalls, a traveling carnival, street performances, and more. This is a popular event that marks the start of summer in Toronto

Toronto also hosts a street festival called "Taste of..." during the summer, featuring festivals from various countries and regions

TD Toronto Jazz Festival

This jazz festival, which has a history of over 30 years, takes place over 10 days from late June to early July every year. During the festival, stages appear on the streets and in parks of downtown Toronto, and many of the performances are free. A variety of musicians from Toronto's local scene, across Canada, and even from overseas perform

Ribfest

This North American food festival brings together rib specialty restaurants, mainly pork ribs. It is held every year in June and July in various locations in Toronto and its suburbs, and you can enjoy ribs from famous restaurants from all over the region

Feel the summer vibes while munching on thick, hearty ribs in the sun with a beer in hand!

Toronto Outdoor Picture Show

This outdoor film screening event is held in a park in Toronto. It takes place every year from late June to September, with different locations taking place a few days each week. While voluntary donations are accepted, the event is generally free and open to the public, and a wide variety of films are screened, from classics to recent hits

It's a Toronto summer tradition that you can enjoy in a picnic-like atmosphere!

Canadian National Exhibition (CNE)

cne

Also known as the CNE or The EX, this large-scale outdoor exhibition marks the end of Toronto's summer. It has a long history, first held in 1879. It is held every year from late August to early September

There will be attractions such as a merry-go-round and a Ferris wheel, as well as a variety of shows such as street performances and live concerts, and many food stalls serving cuisine from around the world. On the last weekend of the festival, there will also be an air show where airplanes perform acrobatics!
