Why does Beyond allow freedom in hairstyle?

Hello.
This is Kawa from the System Solutions Department, where all memory locations are /tmp.

It's 2024. It's easily divisible by 2, so it looks like it's going to be a good year

This time, as a member of the internal project "Hataraku PJour company policy of "freedom of hairstyle and hair colorI would like to introduce
In short, the Hataraku Project is the name of a group that discusses internal policies and works to create a more employee-friendly work environment (please see the blog below for details on our main activities).

[Workstyle Reform] Project team formed! [Diversity & Inclusion]

As previously posted by our company Yoshimoto in the following blog post,

Enhance communication by dressing in your own style!

At Beyond, dress code is optional (in summer, bug-catching boy style is OK)

I myself sometimes wear tie-dye T-shirts in the summer, and I think this is quite important when working. Being able to wear the clothes and hairstyle you like has a very positive effect on your mental health (or so I personally feel). Of course, dressing up in a sharp suit is good, but I feel more comfortable working in clothes I like

This time, we'll be focusing on hairstyles, and we interviewed our company representative, Mr. Haraoka, so we'd like to share the details of that interview and introduce the types of hairstyles and hair colors that people actually have in our company!

Why does Beyond allow freedom in hairstyle?

*From here on, the author interviewed the company's representative, Haraoka, and transcribed the content

Q1 Why is hairstyle/hair color now free?

(I see, so the standards changed little by little.)
(Indeed, if you're working at Beyond, you might not hear much about dress code regulations.)
(※Even I, the author, wasn't wearing a suit from the interview stage.)

2) What do you see as the benefits of introducing this system?

(It's nice to be stylish, isn't it?)
(I actually started talking about vintage clothing with a colleague the other day, so it was a good conversation starter.)
(I really felt that it has a positive effect.)

.

3) Finally, was there any kind of social message?

(Love and Peace, huh? That's wonderful.)
(This interview had already been going on for about an hour and a half, but just talking about hair color...)
(I was amazed at how much the conversation expanded. Because without either of us realizing it,)
(it had gone in the direction of "how much we respect others" rather than just talking about hair,)
(so I got the impression that clothing and hairstyles ultimately come down to the "person" themselves. Wow, that was interesting.)
