The financial statements for game-related companies for July and August have now been completed, so we have summarized them here

nintendo

It's exploding!

The Nintendo Switch is doing very well. It was sued for patent infringement, but it's probably fine

Each sales

■Nintendo Switch

Hardware sales: 1.97 million units Software sales: 8.14 million units
  • Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: 3.54 million units
  • ARMS: 1.18 million units
  • The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild: 1.16 million units (3.92 million total units sold)

■3DS

Hardware sales: 950,000 units (1% increase from the same period last year) Software sales: 5.85 million units (31% decrease from the same period last year)

■Download business

Sales of packaged software and downloadable content for Nintendo Switch grew steadily, with total download sales reaching 11 billion yen (up 41% year-on-year)

■Smart device business

"Super Mario Run" and "Fire Emblem Heroes" performed well, leading to sales of 9 billion yen for smart devices and IP-related revenues (up 450% year-on-year)

Splatoon 2 will be released in the second quarter (July-September), and sales are likely to continue to improve for a while due to the influence of the Nintendo Switch

The stock price has also been on a steady rise since the Nintendo Switch was released on March 3rd. It looks like it will continue to rise!

Akatsuki

I've been keeping an eye on Akatsuki for a while, and their momentum since going public has been incredible.
(I feel like I say this every time.)

Their own title, "Thousand Memories," has become a popular app with 10.61 million downloads (as of the end of June 2017), and all of their collaborative projects have been hits

  • Tales of Link: 2.3 million downloads (co-developed with Bandai Namco Studios)
  • Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle: 180 million downloads (in collaboration with Bandai Namco Entertainment)

The release of "August Cinderella Nine," which had been postponed, was released on June 27th and achieved 400,000 downloads in just three days

It was listed on March 17, 2016, with an initial price of 1,775 yen.
As of August 17, 2017, it was trading at 10,540 yen, an increase of 594%.

The market capitalization is 143.362 billion yen

I actually predicted before that Akatsuki's market capitalization would exceed 100 billion yen. See the article below!!

Game company market capitalization ranking (as of February 20, 2017)

But I didn't expect it to come so quickly

DeNA

segment Sales revenue Segment profit and loss
Game Business 24,294 million yen 7.349 billion yen
EC business 3.954 billion yen -534 million yen
Sports Business 6.32 billion yen 2.247 billion yen
New businesses and others 2.112 billion yen -1.368 billion yen

In the sports business, the Yokohama DeNA Baystars recorded their highest attendance ever at the end of the first half of the season. Their
original brewed beer is selling like hotcakes.

Renovations to Yokohama Stadium are also in preparation for construction to begin at the end of this season

Since DeNA became the parent company of the Baystars, nothing but good things have happened.
The team went from losing 3 billion yen a year to now making a profit.

CyberAgent

Sales and operating profit by segment are as follows:

segment Sales Operating profit
Media Business 18.81 billion yen -14.423 billion yen
Game Business 103,968 million yen 21,266 million yen
Internet advertising business 152,421 million yen 14.175 billion yen
Investment education business 1.775 billion yen 694 million yen
Other Businesses 9.387 billion yen 1.249 billion yen

The gaming business is amazing. Its operating profit surpasses that of its main business, internet advertising, and is the highest in the segment

The media business has a large operating loss, but this is because fiscal 2017 was a period of investment in AbemaTV, and we increased our investment in AmebaTV

If AbemaTV is successful in monetizing, it will be a terrifying thing

As an aside, I've recently stopped watching terrestrial TV and have been watching only Prime Video and AbemaTV.
I'm starting to think that maybe a monitor would be fine instead of a TV.

I'll leave it here for this time
