Thank you. This is Kida from the Content Business Department!
Google Cloud Next '18 in Tokyo was held on September 19th (Wednesday) and September 20th (Thursday), and Beyond also exhibited for the first time as a sponsoring company! As a member of Beyond's marketing team, I also participated in this event, so I will report on the venue and the day's schedule!
What is GoogleCloudNext'18 in Tokyo?
GoogleCloudNext'18 inTokyo is a Google event where you can experience the latest in cloud technology.
The event will be held simultaneously at two venues for two days, September 19th and 20th, with the business session at The Prince Park Tower Tokyo and the developer session at Tokyo Prince Hotel. Beyond will be exhibiting at the business session venue. I did.
▲ The day before, I visited The Prince Park Tower Tokyo to prepare the exhibition booth and tour the venue, but the setup was done by professional staff, so there was almost nothing to do on the part of the exhibiting companies! As expected.
GoogleCloudNext eve! Participation in partner summit
After the venue was ready, the Partner Summit was held at the same venue in the evening, and we had a buffet party where we deepened our interactions with partner companies, people from Google, and many other stakeholders.
▲ Partner companies from two venues gathered for a networking event at the business session venue.
▲ In the center of the venue, there is an area called "Google Café" with tables and benches where you can relax. This is a very exciting venue design with Google World fully open.
▲ Morita, Ohara, and Kida from Beyond will participate in the Partner Summit.
[DAY1] Next'18 inTokyo begins! A very successful first day!
Next'18 inTokyo's daily schedule starts with a keynote speech from 9:30 to 11:30, followed by an open stage session at the "EXPO venue" where exhibitor booths are lined up, and a session held in a separate room around 19:30. will be carried out alternately.
There were so many people that it was thought that the number of people who came was far more than expected in advance. After the keynote speech is over, it will be around noon, so there will be enough snacks to serve all the participants in the EXPO venue.
Visitors can view the booth while eating their favorite snacks, making it a very flexible space!
▲ There will be booths where you can experience various cutting-edge Google Cloud products. A ``hands-on lab'' was held in a separate room, and participants were also given wonderful gifts from Google.
Many people came to the Beyond booth, and more than the planned number of novelty items we had prepared were gone by the first day.
▲ Many companies were exhibiting, and the spaces between the booths were wide and spacious. At noon, a lunch box was prepared for the sponsor company, so I was able to have a leisurely lunch in a separate sponsor waiting room.
▲ Both venues are free to enter and exit, and the shuttle bus used to go back and forth between the venues is also GoogleNext'18 spec, so you can easily go back and forth between the venues even in the rain, so you can head to the venue for the session you're interested in. Very useful at times. (The two venue hotels are about 10 to 15 minutes walk away)
[DAY2] Beyond representative Haraoka has a session on the open stage!
Unfortunately, it rained on the second day, but the number of visitors was still large. On this day's open stage session, Haraoka from Beyond was going to give a talk about the uses of stackdriver, so I decided to check it out (^^)/
▲ Even before the show started, more people than expected came to watch the show, and there weren't enough seats so people had to stand! thank you!
▲ The session will be posted on the Google Cloud YouTube page If you couldn't come to the venue, please take a look.
[Next'18 in Tokyo Night] Large-scale social gathering to entertain visitors and related parties with quizzes about Google Cloud and band performances by Google members
At the end of the second day, a large summit was held at The Prince Park Tower Tokyo, open to all visitors and partner companies.
▲ There will be a professional-grade band performance by Google members, singing and dancing, and there will also be events such as receiving luxurious limited edition items for those who correctly answer quizzes about Google Cloud, making it a very entertaining time.
[Dogrun2018] User group event that brought together the GCP community
Dogrun2018, a community gathering to promote Google Cloud Platform (GCP), was held on the first night at The Prince Park Tower Tokyo.
There are currently five GCP communities, and among them, I always participate in the activities of [GCPUG (a user group that works with Google to improve and promote GCP).There are also [TFUG (TensorFlow User Group)] and [ Examples include FJUG (Firebase Japan UserGroup), [bq_sushi (Google BigQuery UserGroup)], and [Kubernetes Meetup Tokyo (Kubernetes UserGroup)].
▲ Image from the Dogrun2018 participation recruitment page (compass)
▲ A large number of participants from each user group and those who wish to participate in the community are participating. From Beyond, Okazaki and Kida participated along with Ohara, who is the organizer of GCPUG Osaka.
[GoogleCloudSummit'18 in Osaka] A large-scale event is coming to Osaka where you can experience the cutting edge of GoogleCloud!
[Google Cloud Summit'18 in Osaka] will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2018! [Google Cloud Next '18 in Tokyo] is an event where you can experience the cutting edge of Google Cloud, and there seem to be many sessions, so although Beyond is not scheduled to exhibit this time, I do plan to participate. .

Also, after GoogleSummit'18, the GCP community GCPUG event [GCPUG Kansai Summit] will be held, so if you are thinking about using GCP from now on, if you are already using GCP, or if you like Google's services. Please feel free to join us (^^)
summary
[Google Cloud Next '18 in Tokyo] doesn't reveal much of the program until the last minute, so there's a lot of things I don't know about it, and it's the first time Beyond has exhibited there, so I was quite confused, but when I actually participated, I realized that Google was very generous. I have never had any trouble with support.
In addition, a large number of people came to watch the open stage session at the [EXPO venue] where exhibitor booths are lined up, and it will also be streamed on YouTube, so you can catch up on any sessions you missed later.
I also went to see the developer session venue, but it was a little more compact than the business session venue. However, there were plenty of hands-on booths, many companies had questionnaires, and there were many novelty and capsule toys.
The eve event is a networking event [Partner Summit] for partner companies, Google staff, and other related parties, [Dogrun2018], where the community gathers to enliven GCP services, held on the night of DAY1, and participants and related parties held on the night of DAY2. There was [Next'18 in Tokyo Night], which was open to everyone, and GoogleNext'18, which was a three-day party, but there were many visitors, even those who were not yet using the cloud or who were not engineers. There are many easy-to-understand hands-on sessions and sessions, so it is an event where anyone can enjoy and experience cutting-edge technology.
If you are interested in Google Cloud or if you are a company that was considering exhibiting this time, why not try participating next year?
