I took advantage of my refreshing vacation and enjoyed Okinawa to the fullest!

What is the refreshment leave system?

I'm sure many of you are wondering what a refreshment vacation is, so I'd like to briefly explain the system

The refreshment leave system is available to employees with five or more years of service, and provides 10 consecutive business days off and a merit bonus

Since 10 consecutive business days includes at least two Saturdays and Sundays, it is effectively 14 consecutive days off

Once you become a working adult, you probably only get 14 consecutive days off when you quit your job, so it's nice to know that you can get it after working for five years

What's more, this leave accrues every five years, so you can take it at every five-year milestone, such as the 10th and 15th years

I went to Okinawa right away (the first week)

When you think of long holidays, you think of travel. And
when you think of travel, you think of Okinawa, right?

So, I took a quick trip to Okinawa.
I think it was incredibly expensive because it was during summer vacation.

But that's okay

This is because the refreshing vacation comes with a 100,000 yen merit bonus

So, without any hesitation, I decided to go to Okinawa to coincide with the start of summer vacation

The trip was quite long, 5 nights and 6 days, and we traveled extensively, from north to south and to remote islands

I wish I had booked the rental car early

As we got closer, the only options left were luxury cars like Lexus, cars that were a little difficult to drive like a microbus (we have a family of four...), or incredibly expensive minicars that cost around 30,000 yen a day

I was impressed by the river trekking in Nakijin Village, where the scenery seemed to stand still and the driftwood just lying around haphazardly

The bird calls were also unique, and I was reminded that the sounds I don't usually hear are part of the Okinawan forest

After about two hours, we arrived at the end of the trail, the waterfall basin. We spent the day relaxing there, jumping into the pool and drinking coffee made by our guide

Also, since it was a long holiday, I thought it would be a waste not to do something, so I brought along a Raspberry PI, a mobile monitor, a keyboard, a mouse, a mobile battery, and other items to use in the morning, but they never even got powered on

I think he was tired from playing to his heart's content every day

I stayed at home the whole time (the last week)

In the latter half of the year, I mostly stayed at home due to various reasons, such as my children's extracurricular activities

I think I spent most of my time playing Fortnite with my kids.
Thanks to them, I'm getting better and better...!

And for some reason, our household was experiencing an unprecedented Detective Conan boom, so we rented all the past theatrical films and held daily screenings.
Since the theme songs are arranged differently in each Detective Conan movie, we could even play an intro quiz!

When I became eligible for the refreshment leave, I felt a sense of nostalgia as I realized how long it had been since I joined Beyond

Taking two weeks off meant that adjusting work schedules took a considerable amount of time, and I'm sure it put a burden on my team members, but I remember being very happy that no one complained and sent me off with a smile.
From now on, other team members will also be taking refreshing vacations, and I want to make sure that they can take their vacations without any worries.
