I joined the company through a virtual interview

Hello, this is Enoki from the System Development Department
I joined the company through a virtual interview conducted in 2022 for the 2023 graduating class.
Since it's virtual interview season again this year, I thought I'd write an article about it.
What is a virtual interview?
At our company, we call interviews conducted without meeting face-to-face, using avatars to hide the face, a "virtual interview." Rather than simply hiding the face, we minimize information about the job seeker, allowing for an unbiased, flat interview
So, this interview doesn't ask any questions about your school, faculty, department, gender, age, or address, and you don't even have to show your face.
It's an interview where you can participate based solely on your personality.
If you're comfortable with the internet, you're probably already eager to take it, right?
I took a virtual interview
So, since it seemed like a really interesting interview, I decided to take it.
Note: To reiterate, the interview I took was a virtual interview held in 2022.
It is not the current recruitment exam for 2026 graduates. Please keep this in mind.
As quoted earlier, they don't ask the kinds of questions you'd normally get in a regular recruitment test.
So, when I thought about how to convey my "high level of interest,"
I thought that focusing on the appearance would convey it to some extent, so I put a lot of effort into creating it.
However, among those who received job offers through virtual interviews, some were able to win through their communication skills rather than the appearance.
We aim to enable job seekers to freely choose the method that best suits their abilities
He was successfully assigned to the sales department, so his unique personality was clearly reflected in his performance.
Being able to play only the cards you want to play is quite unusual for a job interview.
Moreover, it allows the interviewer to properly capture the true essence of the job seeker, free from bias.
When asked about my impressions of the interview, I
remember saying something like, "It was interesting. Thank you," which made me wonder if I was really a job applicant.
Also, I appreciated being able to freely read the talk deck displayed on the sub-monitor.
This allowed me to organize my thoughts properly and approach the interview naturally.
In any case, isn't it amazing that a company would allow such a free style during the interview?
Who should take a virtual interview?
I wouldn't say this applies to everyone, but I was certainly someone who was quite familiar with the internet.
without any personal information about the other party and without being able to see their face
I was used to communicating
my own research on the company. I often felt like I had the advantage.
If you interact with others online, I highly recommend trying this at least once.
You'll probably feel a slight awkwardness and nervousness, similar to
meeting someone for the first time via voice chat. On the other hand, this also means you can approach the interview with that level of authenticity.
It's virtual interview season
So, the season for virtual interviews has arrived again this year
