[🍁 Toronto Report] Niagara Falls Day Trip x Megabus Cancellation Edition 🫗🚌

Hi everyone!
This is Mikoto from the Systems Solutions Department, currently on a business trip to Toronto as part of the Canadian training program. 🍁

I recently took a solo day trip to Niagara Falls . I encountered several issues during the trip, so I'd like to share my experiences, including the troubles I faced and how I resolved them.

If you are interested in the Canadian training program, please take a look here

Until we reach Niagara

Transportation from Toronto to Niagara

There were several ways to get there, but based on this website and Gemini's recommendations , I decided to book a Megabus bus . 🚌

https://ca.megabus.com/

I made the reservation through the website, and after booking, I received an email like this in my Gmail

Reservation Number
XX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX (Ticket Number)

Date: XXX XX, 2026
From: Toronto, ON, Union Stn Bus Terminal, 81 Bay St at Lakeshore Blvd, 2nd Floor (9:30 AM)
To: Niagara Falls, ON, Bus Terminal (11:05 AM)
Operated by: Megabus Canada
Seat(s): 7

When you actually board the bus, reservation number , so if you're worried about the internet, you might want to make a copy beforehand.

And now, the round-trip fare is..

I also chose my seat, so the total came to $56.47 , and 6,820 yen was deducted from my account . ...It's partly my fault for buying it at the last minute, but it's so expensive.

Now, off to the bus stop!

From Toronto's Union Station Union Stn Bus Terminal .
Actually, even though it's called the same Union Station, the train and bus stations are in separate buildings. It's confusing.

I had looked at this website beforehand , and by simply following the signs for "Scotiabank Arena," I was able to find my way there without getting lost!

Just like at an airport, you find your bus on an electronic display board showing departure times and destinations for multiple bus companies, and then you head to your designated zone

* The zone information is displayed, but the crucial gate number isn't shown until just before the gate opens, so I had to keep checking, which was annoying

Welcome to Niagara falls🫗🫗

After a bumpy 2-hour bus ride,
finally Niagara Falls Bus Terminal ! 🎉🎉

However, it was a bit far from the waterfall, and walking there would have been a hassle, so I took the WEGO Bus, for which I had bought a ticket in advance

https://www.niagaraparks.com/visit-niagara-parks/plan-your-visit/getting-around/wego-niagara-falls-bus/

This is a great value ticket that allows you to ride unlimitedly for 24 hours after your first use ! The price is...

Yeah, it's expensive

Take the Wego Bus to Table Rock

After another bus ride of several tens of minutes, we headed towards Table Rock Centre . Table Rock itself is a spot where you can see Niagara's Canadian Falls up close, so our plan was to go south first and then walk north from there.

I could see the waterfall from the bus, and my excitement level went up at that point! 🎉🎉

Table Rock

We finally made it to Table Rock!!!
The view we saw was...

Oh, look at the back!!!!
Butthe water is so clean!!!!

This is the Canadian Falls, and it was absolutely spectacular.
As you can see, the spray is incredible, so be careful not to get too close, or you'll get wet.

I also took a photo from the front angle. What you see is Niagara City Cruises from the Canadian side!

I wasn't able to go, though... 😅😅

Skylon Tower

After a short walk from Table Rock, we headed to Skylon Tower !
I splurged a little on this trip because I wanted to enjoy the view of Niagara Falls from a slightly higher vantage point.

Date and Time of Use: 2026/05/28 02:00:30
Amount of Use: 2,799 yen
Approval Number: 587136
Merchant Name (*):SKYLON TICKETING

Well, I guess that's reasonable...?

At Skylon Tower, if you buy a ticketthey automatically take your pictureand you also get a redemption ticket!
However, I'm not very good at taking pictures, so I skipped it this time.

We rode up the open elevator and saw Niagara Falls from above..

Wow, it's huge!
This is Canadian Falls, with American Falls and Bridalveil Falls next to it...

Wow, what a spectacular view...!

I was very satisfied to be able to see the Rainbow Bridge on the border with the United States , and even the American cityscape beyond it.

I can't get home smoothly

Well, I had a great time playing and was just about to head back to Union Station when I received
this message in my Gmail from Megabus.

Due to operational issues, your trip from Niagara Falls, ON, Bus Terminal(NIA) to Toronto, ON, Union Stn Bus Terminal, 81 Bay St at Lakeshore Blvd, 2nd Floor(TOR) at 17:00 on 27 May 2026  will be cancelled.

If you would like to reschedule your journey for another date or request a refund, please contact our customer service department at 877-462-6342.

We apologize for the cancellation.

Huh???
Does that mean there might not be a bus today...?

Panicked because I had work the next day, I consulted my travel companion, Gemini, about the situation, and we quickly booked a Flixbus ticket to secure a return bus. I later received a refund for the Megabus ticket.

Bus stop in the opposite direction from the outbound journey

After heading north, I went back down to Table Rock to enjoy a second loop, and then boarded another bus heading north Niagara Falls Bus Terminal .

However, a major problem arises here

😎< Where would you like to go?

🐔< The BusTerminal!

😎< Megabus, right?

🐔< Flixbus! (It's Flix!)

😎< ....Huh?

When I explained which bus I wanted to take, the driver, with a stern expression, handed me a map, pointed with his finger, and said:

😎< You have to go to Rapidsview

It turned out I was on a bus going in the opposite direction from where I was going. Looking at my ticket again, I could see an unfamiliar bus stop called Rapidsview

I hastily booked an Uber and somehow managed to get to my intended bus stop

Open-air terminal

As we entered the area where the bus stop I was looking for was located on the Uber app map, the taxi driver muttered something

🥸< Rapidsview is here, right?

🐔< No, I don't know

The taxi driver said it was his first time there. We arrived at an open-air parking lot with no buildings or anything in sight, making it hard to tell if it was even a bus stop , and we couldn't even figure out where the entrance was. It's frustrating that I don't have any photos, but it really was the kind of place where you don't know where you're supposed to be.

I hurriedly asked Gemini,

Rapid View is just a "huge parking lot (parking space)," so if you go there imagining a building like a bus terminal, you'll probably feel really anxious and think, "Wait, is this really it!?"
Butdon't worry, that's the correct location!

Yes, that's right! Just approach the bus when it comes! 🙆‍♀️

That was way too random...
Afterwards, I spotted a crowd of people with suitcases and approached them, and finally found a Flixbus sign.

And so, I returned to Union Station without incident, bringing my whirlwind trip to Niagara Falls to a close

summary

Including the troubles that occurred, the total cost of travel was..

Megabus: 6,820 yen (2,981 yen refunded)
WEGO Bus: 1,930 yen
FlixBus: 4,406 yen (one way...)
UBER: 2,025 yen

Uber was a bit of a pain, and Flixbus was expensive 😇😇
I got to see lots of amazing scenery and buy souvenirs, so it was fun, but next time I want to plan a more intelligent trip...!
