Cloudflare China Network Overview
When a globally expanding company develops a business that handles web services and content in China, the display speed of the target web application is affected due to the complexity of China's unique network and threats such as cyber attacks. This may reduce performance, such as stability.
Cloudflare's extensive network in China JD Cloud to deliver faster and more secure websites and applications. The network spans many Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities in China, providing high-speed content delivery to users nationwide.
Integrated performance and security services
Cloudflare and JDCloud's networks are already in operation, with plans to expand to 150 locations by the end of 2023. Performance and security services operated on the network include the following items:
Content Delivery Network (CDN) | We serve static content from data centers distributed within China and connected to three major Chinese ISPs. Further reduce response times with the option to resolve DNS requests within China. |
Web Application Firewall (WAF) | All data centers in the network can be protected from DDoS attacks, OWASP TOP10 and other attacks. This is powered by threat intelligence and custom rules created by users. Attacks are mitigated closer to the source, reducing response and latency times. |
encryption | Secure your data in transit using various TLS/SSL options. You can choose to upload your own custom SSL certificate or have Cloudflare manage it for you. |
serverless computing | Cloudflare's serverless service enables you to instantly deploy serverless code across the Cloudflare network, including China, for performance, reliability, and scalability. |
Benefits of Cloudflare China Network
Overcome common challenges associated with operating web applications within China and provide users with the right internet access.
Reduce network latency | There can be bottlenecks when traffic enters and leaves China, and poor peering can take time to bounce between local ISPs, but it provides cached content from the Cloudflare China Network. This significantly reduces loading times for end users. |
Block various attacks | As in many regions, web applications in China face ongoing DDoS threats and attackers who quickly target new vulnerabilities. Security built into the Cloudflare China Network thwarts these attacks and blocks them within China to avoid global impact. |
Improve data privacy | TLS/SSL protects data in transit. Cloudflare customer information, such as email addresses, password hashes, and billing information, is never stored or shared with the Cloudflare China Network. |
Improve system development agility | Easily create custom rules to run and launch subtle A/B tests using serverless code. All of these have the characteristics that the code scales easily and runs within milliseconds of the end user. |
