The 2024 new graduate recruitment "Metaverse Interview" will be held from March 20th (Monday) to April 7th (Friday), 2023. During the Metaverse interview, both the interviewer and the job hunter use "VR goggles." Interviews are conducted in a 3D office recreated online, with no regard to name, age, academic background, or gender, with the aim of recruiting students based on their inner self and their engineering background.

Recruitment that emphasizes the diversity of job seekers

In recent years, various companies are conducting online interviews when selecting new graduates. There are benefits such as attracting local talent and reducing travel time and transportation costs, and there are an increasing number of cases where you can get a job offer without ever visiting an office. Furthermore, in recent years, in order to respect the diversity of job seekers, it has become important not to ask questions related to privacy and to conduct selection without filters such as academic background or gender.

Beyond's selection process does not focus on academic background, but instead employs a large number of engineers with various backgrounds. In the future, we plan to focus more on diversity and inclusion in recruitment, and we have started this initiative as part of that plan.

Why incorporate “metaverse” into new graduate recruitment?

To date, Beyond has been working on new online recruitment methods every year, such as ``online game company information sessions,'' ``novel game company information,'' ``virtual interviews,'' and ``intern RPG games.''

In particular, in the "virtual interview" for new graduates held in March 2022, the interview was conducted with the aim of getting to know the students' humanity in a flat state without being bound by fixed concepts. It has been decided. Age, gender, and educational background did not matter, and multiple people who passed the entry sheet proceeded to the first interview, where both the interviewer and the student used avatars.

We were able to get a deeper understanding of the job hunters' inner lives and experiences without being bound by external factors, and at the same time, we received unique evaluations that had never been seen before, such as the way they communicated and the ingenuity of their avatars, which were different from regular interviews. I incorporated it. Against this background, we hope that by using the metaverse as the subject of selection, we will be able to meet students who are highly interested in the IT industry and aspire to become engineers.

Benefits gained from metaverse interviews

① You can have a conversation as an equal without applying any filters in advance.

The only information that Beyond obtains from job seekers during Metaverse interviews is their nickname and email address. During the interview, we will ask questions based mainly on the job applicant's anecdotes listed on the entry sheet to dig deeper into the candidate's personality.

② You can intuitively express your individuality in a realistic 3D space

Instead of wearing a suit, you can wear an online avatar of your choice and express your individuality in a realistic virtual office that exists in the 3D space of the Metaverse. Asking them why they chose this avatar is also a way to get to know the job seeker's personality, which helps both parties feel less formal and more relaxed during the interview.

③ Matching with job hunters who are highly interested in new technology
