[Drone] Encounter with the unknown in Shenzhen ~ UASexpo2024 ~ [UFO in China]
table of contents
Introduction
I'm Takashiro from our China office , and after witnessing the remarkable evolution of drones, I was filled with an indescribable feeling: ``What is a drone anymore?''
I participated in UASexpo (China International Non-Human Origin) held at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center in Futian District, Shenzhen from May 24th to May 26th, 2024
Personally, I'm not very familiar with drones, and I don't have a deep knowledge of them, but I feel like this event has given me new questions and broadened my interests a little, so I'd like to share some of them with you. We would like to introduce you to the event with photos!
What is UASexpo?
UASexpo is a drone exhibition that has been held every year since 2016, and is one of the largest in the world .
In addition to exhibiting drones, there were also booths related to robot and self-driving technology, which attracted a large number of visitors.
Up until now, I had a strong image of "drones" seen at major Japanese electronics retailers, but now there are drones with a wide variety of shapes, performances, and uses, and the evolution of drone technology and the industry. It was an event that really made me feel the progress of the company itself.
Drones that interested me: Part 1
From here, I would like to introduce a few drones that caught my attention.
has to be the delivery drone from Meituan , which is famous for its food delivery service
a delivery service using drones here in Shenzhen , so I was very interested in this topic, but the service area itself is limited, and in the area where I live, drone delivery It was very interesting to have this opportunity to see the actual product, as the delivery of the item was not possible.
By the way, it seems that the figure takes off and lands from above the delivery box, as shown below, so personally I wanted this figure.
From a Japanese perspective, concerns such as ``Is it safe to fly a drone in urban areas?'' and ``What will we do in the event of an accident?'' are of course important. I felt that I was once again impressed by the greatness of Chinese companies in their attitude of taking the initiative to tackle new things while providing care.
The drone itself has continued to be improved, and upgrades such as flight distance and flight performance at night and in bad weather seem to continue.
Drone that caught my eye: Part 2
the "UFOs" in the world are like this. Shenzhen Zhihang Unmanned Machine Co., Ltd. , is a drone that is mainly used for sightseeing and entertainment, and a person can ride in the center of the saucer.
As you can see from its shape, it stood out from the crowd at the venue, and I think many people came to see it.
When I looked into it, I found out that there is a weight limit when boarding, so I can't even fly up, let alone crash (though it's possible if it's a two-seater model), but this UFO puts Sulberg to shame. I take my hat off to this indescribable entertainment value.
The movement during the flight is just like a UFO, so I thought to myself, ``This must be a UFO,'' and my Japanese language skills were completely wiped out, and my brain was filled with the word ``UFO.'' , that was the experience.
summary
What do you think?
At this event, in addition to the drones introduced in this article, there were also booths from companies selling products such as self-driving technology and humanoid robots, which was very interesting. It was an interesting event.
Since it was held on Friday and Sunday, I think there were many people with their children on weekends. In terms of our business, the hardware area is still unknown, and there are many things we don't know, but we want to continue thinking about business in Shenzhen, China, while always thinking about possibilities. I did.
Also, personally, I didn't know that until now, but I think it was good to learn that drones are widely used in society, for example for disaster relief and patrol purposes.
If we were to use the word "information technology", which has a very wide range of meanings, I feel that the work we are currently engaged in is not completely unrelated, so I am interested in it. I want to deepen my knowledge while increasing my angles!
