[China] Living in Shenzhen Vol.2 [Residing]
2024.11.08
Introduction
I'm Takajo from the China office and I'm suddenly having an allergic reaction because I've been eating shrimp wonton noodles all the time.
From February 2024, I Beyond Technology Shenzhen Co., Ltd. , and will mainly work with Japanese companies in China. We sell server/infrastructure related IT services to customers.
In fact, more than half a year has passed since I started working here in Shenzhen, so I would like to briefly write about my impressions and changes in my daily life.
I don't think there will be that big of a change, but I would appreciate it if you could join me!
Living in Shenzhen ~Happy Things~
The happiest thing is that I have gotten used .
People reading this blog may think, ``I couldn't think of anything, so I forced myself to come up with something,'' but let me assure you that this is just a misunderstanding and a false assumption.
When I first came to Japan, ``a system that can be completed almost entirely with a smartphone'' and ``the horns of electric bicycles honking all the time I was confused.
The most troublesome thing in particular is that you are unconsciously feeling stressed , and it is almost impossible for you to notice it on your own.
Personally, I believe that time will solve this problem, and spending a huge amount of time getting used to your current environment is much more effective than taking strange medicine or going to a mysterious hospital. I feel that it is.
Having said that, if you are really unwell, you should definitely go to the hospital (I had a high fever because of this) , so don't be stubborn and try to balance your physical and mental health. I feel that there is a need to continue improving this.

Living in Shenzhen ~Troubles~
Compared to six months ago, I have made a lot more friends, probably because I started taking lessons!
Although I still can't communicate in Chinese, I am able to get the message across even just by using body language, and I am barely surviving with English and Japanese.
Meanwhile, as I interact with them on a daily basis, I suddenly feel something. That is, ``Japanese people are too polite .
No matter what you do, most people bow and use both hands when accepting something, but even if you are doing something to show respect for the other person , You might think, "This person will always be so formal."
``I thought we'd become good friends because we talked so well together over dinner...'' There are times when I end up being labeled as a troublesome person who doesn't have a good sense of distance.
If you can speak Chinese and can communicate smoothly with the other person, there may be another approach that can clear up the misunderstanding, but if you can't speak Chinese at all like me, , I've been wondering what to do lately.
I feel like I have been interacting with other people in some way up until now, but once again, cross-cultural exchange and symbiotic society came to mind, and I realized how difficult it is to understand others, no matter when or where you are. There are many scenes that make me realize this once again, and also make me think about the correct way to express myself.
For now, all I can do is try to speak as much as possible in the language of the country and show that I am trying to understand the culture in a way that is understandable to the other person . the fact that my strange deceptions no longer work , and reconsider my daily actions and behavior.
In fact, if you face yourself sincerely and take proper action, even if you can't communicate with each other in words, your attitude and facial expressions will be conveyed, and you will often be accepted into the circle, so take advantage of this opportunity. I would like to widen the circle of exchange without any surprises!

summary
What did you think?
However, it's only been half a year, so if you say you 're just thinking you've figured it out,
Basically, I live in Shenzhen, so when I go on business to Shanghai or Guangzhou, for example, even though they are in the same country, I can feel the differences in their faces and atmospheres, albeit slightly.
Every time I visit, I realize that just living in one place doesn't make me feel like I know China.
It was a feeling I had never felt before in Japan, but I can't deny that I was simply too insensitive.
I want to take the time to check it out!
