[Financial Results Report] Summary of DeNA's financial results. Analysis of business progress in fiscal 2015

This is Nakauchi from the Technical Sales Department

It's the financial settlement season. Last week, many game companies announced their financial results

Among them, I would like to summarize DeNA's financial results, which I personally paid attention to

Financial statements are available here

Revenue 33.8 billion yen (-2% year-on-year and -9% quarter-on-quarter)

Operating profit: 3.3 billion yen (same period: -36%; same period: -55%) Operating profit margin: 10%

Sales and management total: 16.3 billion yen (same period: +12% same period: +8%)

The sports business has been hit with a significant negative impact as professional baseball enters the off-season, but other areas of QonQ haven't changed much

Coin consumption is increasing, but it seems to be driven by Granblue Fantasy

Since Granblue Fantasy is a third-party game, it's interesting to see how it fares in-house and with collaborations, but it seems that their main titles, "Super Gundam Royale" and "Record Keeper," are seeing good user engagement. They say they will continue to grow through operations and marketing. (From the Q&A session)

Business and strategic progress

"Aikatsu! Photo on Stage!!" has received some harsh reviews

  • for the first collaboration with Nintendo, " Miitomo ," will begin on February 17, 2016
  • Approximately five titles by the end of fiscal year 2016
  • DeNA's role is back-end

There was no particular change in the division of roles

" MERY " have grown tremendously.

DeNA seems to want to make the curation platform business a new pillar of its business, and it plans to invest in it in 2016 and start recovering the investment from 2017

I think the acquisition of Yokohama Stadium was a great move (although it wasn't mentioned much...)

This means we will be free from the difficult task of running in the red even if all games are sold out

thoughts

QonQ was down due to the professional baseball off-season, but I think the growth of Granblue Fantasy helped to limit the downside

I think this has had an impact on the stock price

Personally, I was looking forward to hearing about the progress of the collaboration with Nintendo and the acquisition of Yokohama Stadium, but neither of them had much to say

In the immediate future, it will be interesting to see how far "Miitomo" and "MERY" will grow, and in the medium to long term, it will be interesting to see how "ONE PIECE Thousand Storm" and the collaborative title with Nintendo will fare

Now the question remains as to what will happen with Granblue Fantasy's gacha issue..

Today, February 8th, is the financial results for Klab (final financial results) and Cruise (3Q)

Tomorrow, February 9th, is the date for Bandai Namco Holdings' (3Q) financial results
