Hello, I'm Fujisawa, a recruitment officer at Beyond who has only been watching K-POP videos lately
The year has flown by and there are less than two months left, but how are all of you graduating in 2022, who will be starting your job hunting next year, doing?
Our company has been doing so much online since the COVID-19 pandemic began that I think we've become proficient in using most of the tools available. (Just kidding. There are definitely tools I don't know about.)
And on Wednesday, November 11, 2020, Beyond will be holding its "Virtual 1-Day Internship"
There are other companies that are hosting internships in virtual spaces, so some of you may have participated in one!
However, Beyond's virtual space is a little different
I will be interning at "8x9Craft (hereinafter referred to as HackCraft)", which uses a MOD for a certain open-world game
What is Hackcraft?
Hackcraft is a programming teaching material developed by 8x9 (Hack), a kids' programming school that is part of our group company
The operations are done using a mouse, which is called visual programming, so even people who have never written code can learn programming from scratch.
No programming skills required
If you're worried that you have to be a science major or have experience writing code, there's no problem
Hackcraft is not about writing code, but rather focuses on a mouse-based UI/UX called visual programming
Even though I work in public relations and recruitment, and I have no programming skills, after I learned how to use it to a certain extent during rehearsals, I found it to be simply fun and became hooked
▼The person helping the interns on the day will give an easy-to-understand explanation of "Hackcraft."
The world was created by a 17-year-old high school student
held an online game company information session for 2021 graduates in March 2020.
Noboru created the world at the last company briefing and during this internship .
▼ A second-year high school student at N High School. 7 years of Minecraft experience. *The one making the peace sign
At just 17 years old, Noboru is the god of world creation
I gave them a few photos and asked them to create Beyond's Osaka office in Minecraft, and they created a very high-quality world in just a few days
▼Online company tour
The design of the monitor screens, ceiling, and floor is extremely detailed
And Noboru has completed this internship perfectly as well
Mission details revealed in advance!
As a special treat for those of you reading this article, we will be revealing in advance the missions
Mission 1: Escape Game
In the first mission, you will be asked to take a quiz about Beyond
The answers are posted on the website and recruitment site, so each person is asked to search for the page and enter the answer, and those who get the answer correct can proceed to the next room
For those who make it to the final room, something good might happen...! (Maybe)
Mission 2: Building
The second is the best part of hackcraft: building blocks
You will use visual programming to assemble the given module according to the design
Place blocks by entering commands such as "move forward," "place block," and "repeat" to complete the module
Mission 3: "Light the Server Lamp"
Next up is the "Circuit" mission, which requires a bit of thinking
To turn on the server, you have to light a few points, and if you make a mistake, the server will burst into flames. This is an impossible task in reality (lol)
It is a little difficult as you will need to think about where to light the fire and create a program, but don't worry, the organizers will give you hints as you go along
Mission 4: Team Development! Build a Tower!
The final mission is a team battle
Players are divided into two teams and build according to the simple rule that the team that builds the tallest tower wins
There are four different tower themes, and teams will discuss and decide on the type of tower and division of roles
The completed tower must be able to be climbed by people, so you need to keep this in mind as you proceed with the building
This kind of "teamwork" is also necessary for engineers, so the key is how well they can communicate while building!
Held on November 11, 2020!
- "I want to participate in an internship online."
- "I don't really understand what an engineer is, but I'm interested."
- "It looks like fun, so I'd like to participate."
We welcome people like that
If you have time between 2:00 PM and 5:00 PM on Wednesday, November 11th, we look forward to your application!
