Multi-cloud Karuta makes studying cloud easier? ?

Points to note:

I am creating multi-cloud karuta, but I am not selling it.

Permission for commercial use is required in advance.

Hello, I thought I was feeling full of energy now that my hay fever was over.

This is Ken from Satsuki disease.

There are various cloud vendors. It would be nice if I had time to touch things on a regular basis, but realistically it's a little difficult.

There were similar voices within the company as well.

Mr. A: “ I want to learn more about various .”

Mr. B: " I want to know more about the service ."

Mr. C: “ I wish I could learn about the cloud in a more playful way .”

Even if you want to study a lot and do some hands-on work, you may end up giving up because of the number one problem faced by engineers: I don't have enough time

The ideal would be to be able to memorize a lot in a short amount of time and as if it were a game.

That's how it was born because of those voices! ! " Multi-cloud Karuta ".

In this blog, I would like to write about the specific circumstances behind the creation of karuta in chronological order in some detail.

The secret story of the birth of multi-cloud karuta

Multicloud Karuta was born at the LT tournament held around fall of last year.

What is the LT tournament?

The LT tournament is what is called a lightning talk. In the Beyond version, multiple people work together as a team to come up with ideas to make work within the company easier and more enjoyable. Then, at the end, you have to present your ideas in front of everyone in about 5 minutes.

The idea came from...

Beyond business style

・Beyond is built and operated mainly in the cloud.

・Working with various clouds

Beyond has many employees who like board games etc.

As proof of this, Beyond also has a board game club. I often see them enjoying themselves after work by playing board games or card games in the break room.

Thanks to the fact that most of our employees are engineers, and the catchphrase that you can enjoy the cloud as if it were a game, we decided to try it out as a new business.

You did it! ! ! !

I decided to make a multi-cloud karuta game.

After the LT tournament, we decided to actually form a multi-cloud karuta team and move forward with the project.

I proceeded to create it with anticipation and excitement in my heart, imagining what it would look like if I could make it.

However, various problems have emerged. I would like to point out some of the issues that have come up.

① What kind of design will match when you combine Karuta and Cloud?

② How do you think of karuta haiku like karuta?

③ How should I choose a cloud service?

It would take a tremendous amount of time to create karuta for all services.

④ What tools can be used to create it?

(There were also problems with images being blurry and text being difficult to read.)

From the design to the karuta poems to the creation tools, since I'm neither a designer nor a writer, there were so many things I had to think about from scratch, so I had to go step by step.

I don't usually do this kind of work, so I really admire the people who do this kind of work.

However, I was able to see for myself that the board games and karuta that are available in the world were created through the efforts of these people, so my perspective changed a little. Ta.

Karuta is finally completed

I was thrilled when the karuta was completed and the finished product arrived safely.

When I played around with it at the company, I was amazed at how much I could learn about cloud services that I didn't know about in such a short amount of time, and I couldn't help but be moved by how much fun it was to learn.

summary

``Multi-Cloud Karuta'' was created with the hope that studying cloud will become ``easier'' through the LT tournament.

From now on, I would like more people to enjoy learning about the cloud through Karuta within the company.

In my next blog, I will actually use Multi-Cloud Karuta to train new employees, so I would like to write about that experience! ! Look forward to the next issue! ! ! !
