My name is Fujisawa, and I work in public relations and recruitment. I've been practicing dance every day recently
Did you know that Beyond has a variety of internal systems?
I have introduced this information many times in my previous blogs, but there is so much that it's getting difficult for me to keep track, so I have put together the latest version of Beyond's employee benefits and internal systems
This content will be released as a video on Beyond's YouTube channel at a later date, so please take a look if you're interested

Employee benefits

Basic benefits
- Complete social insurance coverage (health insurance, employee pension insurance, employment insurance, workers' compensation insurance)
- Health checkup (once a year)
Common employee benefits in IT companies
- Flextime system (you can come to work any time between 9:00 and 12:00, core time 12:00 to 18:00)
- Remote work OK
- Office casual is OK
- Free hairstyle and hair color
Remote work began in earnest in April 2020. We are currently operating in a hybrid format that combines working in the office with remote work
Dress code is optional, with some people wearing tracksuits and others not wearing socks. When meeting with external parties, we sometimes wear suits
Of course, you can wear your hair however you like. Gold , blue , pink , yellow , purple , silver etc., and no one will criticize you for wearing any color.

Employee benefits for engineers
- Cost coverage for external training
- Book purchase costs
- Qualification acquisition incentive system (covering the cost of qualification exams)
The company will cover the costs of attending external paid seminars and study groups
Whenever I want to buy a technical IT book, I check with my supervisor and then purchase it at work
We provide separate incentives when you obtain qualifications. The amount of the incentive varies depending on the difficulty of the qualification
Vacation benefits
- Golden Week holidays
- New year holiday season
- Congratulatory and condolence leave
- Maternity leave
- parental leave
- Summer vacation
- Christmas holidays
- refreshing vacation
Instead of the company specifying the dates for summer vacation, employees can choose any number of days between July and September to take it. This means you can take a long weekend or pinpoint a specific time off
If both December 24th and 25th are weekdays, you can take Christmas holidays on either date
Full-time employees who have been employed for more than five years are eligible for a refreshment leave, which includes two weeks of vacation and a 100,000 yen merit bonus. Please see the blog of an employee who actually went to Okinawa on a refreshment leave here.
Other allowances and systems
- Duty allowance (night shift, L shift, weekends, holidays, year-end and New Year holidays)
- Commuting allowance (up to 30,000 yen per month)
- Neighborhood allowance (20,000 yen per month)
- Telecommuting allowance (500 yen per day)
- Retirement allowance system
- Influenza vaccination subsidy system
Infrastructure engineers will receive an allowance when they are on duty to monitor servers
Neighborhood allowances are paid to those who live within two stations of the office, so there are quite a lot of employees who live near the office
Since remote work began, we have been providing employees with a daily allowance of 500 yen for days they work from home
And, although it is rare for an IT company, we also have a retirement benefit system. Please see the blog for more details on the retirement benefit system here.
Beyond's unique internal system

In-house systems for engineers
- In-house study session (once a month)
- English training
- Blog writing allowance
We hold an internal study group every month, where three members of the company talk for about 10 to 15 minutes. Topics are assigned to either technical or non-technical topics, and non-engineers like me choose a non-technical topic to talk about
has written a blog post explaining why we offer English training,
We provide an allowance of 2,000 yen per blog post written within the company. Additionally, we award an Amazon gift certificate to the person with the most hits each month. I used the gift certificate to buy a vacuum cleaner
Internal systems to promote internal communication
- Internal exchange meeting
- Beyond Lunch
- Coffee Break
Beyond has a team called the Organizational Culture Committee that promotes communication within the company, and they plan online welcome parties and internal networking events. Please see the blog for more details about the Organizational Culture Committee here.
We also provide an opportunity for employees to have online lunch with company members once a month. The company covers the cost of food and drinks for both the company networking event and lunch
Systems added due to the impact of COVID-19
- Mental support (telephone mental care support)
- Coaching System
With the increase in remote work, we want to prioritize the mental health of our employees, so we have made an anonymous telephone mental support service available
We have also introduced a "coaching" service that helps you discuss your concerns and goals, and allows you to talk regularly online with Jun Otsuka
Systems not implemented due to the impact of COVID-19
- Company trip
- Cherry blossom viewing
- barbecue
- Inter-base work system
Until 2019, we held seasonal events such as cherry blossom viewing and barbecues, but we have now shifted to online social gatherings
We have a system in place that allows employees to work at one of our three bases in Osaka, Yokohama, and Shikoku for about a week, but we plan to implement this once it becomes possible to travel to other prefectures
Other internal systems
- Business training at a learning agency
- siesta system
- Early departure system for anniversaries (up to 6 hours of work on family members' or partner's birthdays, up to 4 times a year)
- Side jobs outside the company
- Side jobs within the company
- Benefit One
- YASAI at the office
- Nomushin store
- In-house bar
- Unlimited tea, water and coffee in the open space
- It's OK to listen to music with headphones while working, and music is OK in the office
- NANKAI NAMBA WORKERS Minapita Point Card (discounts available at several stores in Namba)
I have a blog where I interviewed an engineer who frequently uses the siesta system
Starting in 2020, side jobs will be allowed, and with permission from your department supervisor, you can do the work you want outside of working hours
Starting in 2021, side jobs within the company have also been allowed. One such store is "Nomushin Shoten," run by an engineer, which sells cup ramen and snacks at low prices within the company. an interview article , so please read it if you are interested.
At YASAI, healthy foods such as yogurt and salad chicken are regularly delivered to the office and sold within the company for 100 yen each
That's it!
While writing this, I was thinking, "There are so many!"
We have introduced a variety of employee benefits and internal systems, from those commonly found in IT companies to ones unique to Beyond. However, we are still experimenting to find the best working environment for our engineers, so we would like to continue working to improve the company to create a better environment!
