table of contents
Introduction
This is Takajo from Beyond Shenzhen, and every time I see Santa Claus here in Shenzhen, where it's usually warm, I feel a tremendous sense of discomfort.
Previously, I created an article about APN settings for the iOS version, but I couldn't create an Android version, so this time I will explain how to set the APN for the Android version.
For the APN setting procedure for iOS version, please see the article below!
○ [eSIM] Explanation of APN settings in Beyond SIM ~ iOS edition ~
*This article was written based on the Google Pixel 7a OS, Android 15. Thank you for your understanding in advance.
What is APN?
Let me introduce you to APN again.
This APN (Access Point Network) is a function similar to a "relay point" that is necessary when connecting a smartphone to the Internet.
Every communication carrier has its own APN, so smartphone users need to connect to the Internet via this APN.
However, if the smartphone user is unable to access the APN provided by the telecommunications carrier, the smartphone may not be able to connect to the Internet.
If the communication carrier of your smartphone is not a so-called low-cost SIM company, but a major carrier such as Docomo, au, SoftBank, etc., the ``automatic APN setting pattern (Auto-APN)'' is the mainstream. Therefore, smartphone users do not need to think about APN.
However, if you are using a service from a low-cost smartphone/SIM provider that falls under MVNO, you can use the "User's own APN settings" operation to correctly set the APN name specified by the carrier and use the service for Internet communications. You need to connect to the correct relay point to do so.
In addition, in rare cases, it may be necessary to manually set the APN .
Please be careful your smartphone's APN settings unnecessarily unless there are any problems or you have a special purpose
General flow of work

summary
What did you think?
While reading this article, you may have gotten a general idea of APN settings.
Basically, there should not be many opportunities to manually configure the APN as introduced in this article. After installing the eSIM, you can complete the APN settings automatically on your smartphone, or simply follow the official instructions provided by your carrier.
However, on very rare occasions, irregular events may occur, such as ``I can't connect to the Internet even though I set the eSIM correctly in advance.'' We hope this article will help you to set up your eSIM accurately without having to worry about it.
