Beyond Co., Ltd.'s recruiting staff talks about interview points and the inside story of recruitment

table of contents
Hello, this
is Miyoshi, the recruiting manager at Beyond Inc.
It's the season of thawing.
Last week, I felt the soft spring breeze.
I love this season, but every year, when I watch the new things sprout, I feel a sense of nostalgia for the long winter.
Now that Beyond has begun full-scale recruitment of new graduates, I some tips for those who are planning to take the Beyond interview , as well as introduce some general interview tips! (Thank you for all your applications m(__)m)
If you are about to start job hunting, be sure to use this as a reference!

This is what a job interview at Beyond is actually like!
① Not just "technical ability"! We also value personality
Beyond is an engineer-centered company, but we also value not only skills but also personality and ways of thinking.
For example:
✅Can you value teamwork?
✅Are you willing to think for yourself and learn proactively?
✅Can you act sincerely to help others?
During an interview, the interviewer will likely ask about anecdotes such as, "What did you learn as a student?" or "What challenges have you taken on so far?" Stories about failures are also very welcome! By talking about the lessons and learnings you gained through such experiences, you can discover elements that make the interviewer think, "I want to work with this person."
② No "stiff interviews"!
When you hear the word "interview," some people may feel nervous, thinking, "Am I going to be asked some tough questions?" or "What if it's a stressful interview?" But don't worry. Beyond's interviews have a relaxed atmosphere!
In fact, they're more like "casual conversations" where you get to know each other better.
Actual question examples
- What technology are you interested in these days?
- Have you ever contributed to the people around you?
- What do you want to do as an engineer?
- What kind of relationships do you want to build within the company?
We want to get to know you better, so please speak your true self
Useful for general interviews too! 3 points to make a good impression
This is a useful point not only for Beyond, but for interviews at any company
① Prepare thoroughly in advance!
An interview is a chance to promote yourself, but companies also want to see how interested the applicant is in their company
✅Check the company's website and blog
✅Understand the job description and the type of person they are looking for
✅Think about how you can contribute
It is also important to check in advance what values the company holds dear
② Speak in your own words!
When answering questions in an interview, it is important to speak in your own words rather than preparing standard answers
For example, the commonly asked question, "What are your strengths?"
✖ "I have excellent communication skills" (vague)
⭕ "At my part-time job, I was responsible for summarizing everyone's opinions. For example..." (specific and easy to understand)
If you include an anecdote in your story, it will be even more memorable!
This is a personal story, but I am not good at improvising or getting nervous, so in the beginning I often prepared a script
At some point, I started to prepare some rough material to talk about, and once I'd got the main points, I'd think about the rest on the spot and speak, and that style was much better received.
Now that I'm in the hiring department, I realize that the lines I memorized back then were obviously obvious...
③ Ask questions!
At the end of an interview, you will often be asked, "Do you have any questions?" This is your chance
For example, questions like:
✅ "What are your strengths that other companies don't have?"
✅ "What is the daily routine of an engineer working here?"
✅ "What are your plans for future business development?"
On the other hand, it might be a bit of a waste to answer "Nothing in particular." Please feel free to ask me anything you're curious about
